My name is Jimmy and after a lifetime of hunting and fishing I decided to get into taxidermy. I took a taxidermy class at Surry Community College in Yadkinville NC, Just north of Winston-Salem. I trained for over a year under the instruction of Rick Robson who has been in taxidermy for 30 years. I have now opened my own taxidermy studio in Yadkinville NC. I only use the best available materials for all the trophies I do. I never use dry preserve, which used to be common practice by many taxidermist. Some still use this method, and their cheaper prices usually reflect that, And in time their work will too. I continually attend classes and seminars to stay abreast of the ever changing advancements in technique and technology in the taxidermy industry. I am a proud member of North Carolina Taxidermists Association (NCTA). That and a professional, customer service type atmosphere is what puts A-Typical Taxidermy in a league all its own.
