Welcome to Black Wolf Ranch! We specialize in producing Grulla and Dun Paints and Quarter Horses. Our horses are started with natural horsemanship methods and have a strong foundation in ground training, trail work, and good manners. BWR, located 30 minutes outside Springfield, MO; is home to several horses in training year-round. Our horses live outside in small age-appropriate groups on acres of wooded pasture, with hills to race up and down, shelter, and good friends to socialize with. BWR horses are handled daily and kept current on routine wormings, vaccinations, and farrier work. We insist on good manners and respect from our horses, and as a result; BWR horses do not bite, kick, rush gates, or resist bridling and saddling. Instead, BWR horses are taught to stand quietly for grooming, bathing, tacking up, mounting, and dismounting.
