Johnny Reid "John" Edwards (born June 10, 1953), was the Democratic 2004 nominee for Vice President, and a one-term former Democratic Senator from North Carolina who is considered a potential Democratic candidate for the 2008 Presidential election.

Bush, Edwards formed the One America Committee and was appointed director of the Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is also now a consultant to an investment bank in New York.
