Peoria Journal Star, The (IL) - September 3, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: Thomas Hughes PEKIN - Thomas W. Hughes, 51, died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born Nov. 19, 1951, in Pennington Gap, Va., to Dexter and Eleanor Blair Hughes, he married Pamela Kaye Montgomery on Dec. 4, 1971, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving is one brother, Harry of Chillicothe. His parents preceded him in death. He was a member of Laborers 231 in Pekin for 25 years, Carpenters Local 644 in Pekin for 10 years and Teamsters and Chauffeurs Local 627 in Peoria. He was a country and western dancer and teacher with Justus Dancers and had been a coordinator with Side Kick Dancers. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pekin. He was a former member of ABATE and the Hog Association. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Cremation will be accorded after the visitation. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by graveside services at 10:15 a.m. at Woodrow Cemetery in rural South Pekin. Elder Addison Abernathy will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Tom Hughes Scholarship Fund for skilled trades, in care of Pekin National Bank, 329 Court St., Pekin, IL 61554; or to the Lyme Disease Association, P.O.
