Greg Mortenson’s Speech

I found Greg Mortenson pretty entertaining today. He stayed down to earth the whole time. He did not try to be fake or use big words to sound important to his audience. Mortenson just gave the people his message in the simplest way that he could. But yet, he did not try to baby the audience at all. Mortenson certainly got his message across to me in particular. I loved the part where he talked about how women needed to be educated. My favorite quote was, “If you educate a boy, you educate an individual. If you educate a girl, you educate a community.” That  brought a smile to my face and it so true. (I think the Taliban are afraid of women!) The feminists would have loved to hear Mortenson’s speech. Overall, I thought he was a great speaker. It proved worth getting up early in the morning, walking in the cold, and having my drinks taken away just to hear him talk.
