[Scene: Guidance Counselor's Office at Tokyo University. Kyoko Arai, age eighteen sits in room looking bored. She plays with her long black hair for a good while. Kyoko is dressed in a nice dress suit with her schoolbag for her freshman year at TU. The clock ticks loudly in the background as she looks up at it. The door slides open. Kyoko looks up right away. A twenty-nine year old woman walks into the room. She looks all nice dressed up in a Western-style dress suit.]
Guidance Counselor: [Sits down as Kyoko's head follows her] Good morning, Kyoko Arai.
[Kyoko gives her an apathy-filled wave. Guidance counselor looks pretty nervous.]
Guidance Counselor: Okay, shall we begin your evaluation?
[Silence]
Guidance Counselor: Okay then, let's begin. [She opens and looks at Kyoko's records.] Says here that during your school years, you were very popular among your classmates and made very average grades. But during your senior year, you became more isolated and you rose up to straight A's. Care to tell me what happened there?
Kyoko: No!
Guidance Counselor: Okay... Any suicidal thoughts?
Kyoko: No.
Guidance Counselor: Any family history of suicide?
Kyoko: No.
Guidance Counselor: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
Kyoko: [Looking annoyed] Why?
Guidance Counselor: I just want to get to know you some.
[Kyoko snorts loudly. The guidance counselor looks at her puzzled]
Guidance Counselor: What's wrong with that?
Kyoko: [Getting angry] Why the hell do you even care so much?!? Everyone tries to get in my head and figure me out! Why can't you all just leave me alone?!? Everyone is just too noisy about everyone else! Why can't they just stay in their own little boxes and keep to their damn selves? You know what? I don't need they crap! I'm out of here!
[Kyoko gets up, grabs her bag, and storms out of the room. The guidance counselor looks on worried. She sits back at her desk and looks at the files.]
Guidance Counselor: I don't know if I can help that poor girl.
