The Supernatural Revolution
Part One: We’re Not Going to Take This Anymore:
The time came long overdue. All was not created equal in the living realm. The mystics were being treated like outcasts. The humans hunted them down and killed them like game. Many half-breeds had to be hidden away to keep from persecution by the humans. Everything with a mystical origin kept getting harassed every single day. The witches in the Salem Witch Trials had it much easier they these mystics did. Blood stains Edo and all of Japan for many centuries. Why? The humans were afraid of what they couldn’t understand. They couldn’t understand the strong powers of the mystics. They all feared being enslaved to them all. So what could they do? Stamp it all out before that was to happen. Thus the persecutions and hate began.
At first, most of the supernatural accepted this without any question. They just wanted to live peaceful lives. They would do almost anything to avoid the humans. They even taught their children to accept the discrimination for many years. It all seemed to stay good. But then, the young ones wanted their rights and equality. They soon began to ask questions.
“Why?” they asked aloud. “Why do the humans hate us so much?” The elders couldn’t come up with an answer this time. They just stared on at their young in silence. That didn’t do for the young ones. They wanted answers. They wanted to be equals to the humans. They just wanted their rights.
So far, the need stayed under the radar. The elders were able to will the youth to forget about their complaints and discontentment. Sometimes, they had to break it out of the hard-headed youngins. Any notions for a revolution seemed to die away on the spot. The youth would seem to forget about wanting change and go on living with how the ways things were. The elders seemed to be doing a good job with keeping the peace as if had always been for many years. However, that seemed pretty much in vain. One could only hold back young ambition back for so long. Something had to give. It gave away almost so suddenly.
This break came one late day in July. A young immortal had gone out to bring water back to her village. She had been told many times to take the path that her parents instructed her. But today, the girl wanted to take a shortcut home to get back in time for dinner. That proved to be a huge mistake on her part. The girl made it across the river through the woods. So far, everything went through just fine. But then, it all sailed into darkness from there. Three boys all sat in a tree waiting for her. They had been watching her for a long time. Mind you, their prey made for a cute girl to behold. She looked about twelve years old and a typical Japanese country girl cutie. Straight black to her shoulders. Skinny little thing. Her ratty clothes actually looked nice on her. The boys knew right away she wasn’t a normal human. She had to be a part of the supernatural. Only one way to see. The boys leapt down from the tree in front of her. The girl looked at them confused.
“Uh…” she said. “Can I help you?” The boys looked at her closely like a pack of hungry wolves. The girl looked on in fear. “Guys…” she said nervously. “Is there… something wrong?” One of the older boys walked up closer to her.
“Yeah!” he called out loud. “You!” The girl looked on confused.
“Me?” she asked confused. “Why me?” The boys looked at her with hungry hate in their eyes.
“Because you are one of them!” the second boy shouted back at her. The girl looked at them with great fear.
“No, I’m not!” she lied the way her family taught her how. “I’m not one of them! I’m one of you!!!” But, the boys didn’t buy it at all.
“LIAR!!!” they screamed at her.
“No, it’s the truth!” the poor girl cried out loud. They still didn’t believe her. The boys all seized her and grabbed her. The girl cried out and begged for them to spare her. The savages didn’t listen at all. They just beat the girl to death, cut her heart, and crushed it to bits. The poor girl died on the spot because her powers were too weak to try and even defend herself from her attackers. In the end, they strung up her body in the woods like a sacrifice offering to a sick-minded god. This sent out a sick and angry message to mystics everywhere. Both the youth and elders agreed this time: no more oppression by the humans! It was time to fight back for their rights!
