Trip Through History

Ah, my first assignment! This turned out to be an interesting trip. I wanted to do a Jimi Hendrix poem for the first assignment. Yet, I found that it just was not enough to do just that. Then, the idea for the Forever Twenty-Seven club came into my mind. I decided to make that into an actual club. This is where the poem really came to life. I decided that the speaker would be the hostess of the club. She is talking to some newcomer musicians who died at the age of twenty-seven themselves. I looked up some of the musicians on Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club). Usually, I have been told that Wiki is one of the least reliable sources on the internet. However in this case, it worked out just fine.

I decided to give the hostess a cheerful yet dark-humored tone to the poem. I think she tries to make light of a grim situation. I think this hostess would have to have a sense of humor to keep her from being depressed and killing herself again. (I say again because, I would be assuming she would be dead at twenty-seven as well.) Overall, I was glad that this poem turned out rather nicely.
