Two Great Elements
Fire and ice are the two most famous elements in the world. They have been put against each other and married together happily. It all depends on the writer. Either way, both elements are being forever used in some way or another. Robert Frost is no exception to the rule. He takes the two elements and puts them up against each other. Fire and ice seem to be the choice of how the world will end. Which one does Frost choose? He sides with the ones who think the world will end with fire. But yet, Frost likes ice as well. For he says, “I think I know enough of hate/To say that for destruction ice/Is also great/And would suffice.” (Lines 6-9) The man seems to secretly favor them both. I like this poem because of the eternal love-hate relationship between fire and ice. If I had to pick one or the other, I would just go with both in the very end. It is just that simple.
