Eds Tigra site!

My names Ed, im 21 and working in Guildford.

Here i am!

I've just bought a 1996 vauxhall tigra 1.6 16v. Its got 35,000 on the clock with 1 year MOT & Tax.

I would like to get the car up to show standard over the next year. Primarily i will be modifying for performance only. The car has 103 bhp as it stands and does 0-60 in around 8.8 seconds.

My last car was a Ford Fiesta XR2i but the poor beast starting to die on me within a few months after I bought it... Initially front suspension and driveshafts were replaced, then the clutch started going, as well as the front brakes, also the rust around the rear wiper and filler cap was something of a worry so I decided to sell and get a new car!

Looking for a new car was not easy, nothing seemed to grab my eye. I wanted something that i would be able to modify over the coming months so i started browsing through the auto trader website.

I didnt want to lose out on any performance without my premiums going through the roof (more so...) so i was looking for a car with a 1.6 litre engine.

The tigra fell into this category and i couldnt find anything near as good in my price range of £2500-£3000.

I decided to look for a low mileage, black 1.6 tigra somewhere around the london area. This was trickier than i anticipated and i waited a couple of weeks before settling on this...

I decided it would be a good idea to have a vehicle inspection on the car to make sure i knew what i was getting, due to the vast problems on the last car i bought. The vehicle was inspected and revealed a few minor faults. Power steering pump was faulty and a few leaky seals in the engine bay. It was also revealed the car had been involved in a front end crash, although repair work had been carried out to a decent standard. I put a deposit down on the car providing the power steering pump was replaced. The deal was done and the car was mine...
