Duo leaned over the work bench, reaching for a tool from the rack above it. Heero quickly caught Duos braid, keeping the silken length from falling into a pot of glue. He tucked it into Duos belt with quick fingers.
"Hey! Play with my ass later, we got to get this done now. Not that I mind, you understand. Its just that Im really busy." Duo gave Heero a quick hug and went back to work.
Heero settled back on the stool he had been perched on. On guard again.
Heero stalked up behind Duo, catching his braid before it could fall on the hot soldering iron. Duo gave him an absent "Not now, Heero Im still working on this." Heero kissed the back of his neck and leaned on the work bench, watching calmly as his love worked on the unidentified what-ever-it-was.
Heero reached over and took the end of Duos braid in his hand. He sat stroking the tuft of hair at the end with gentle fingers. It never ceased to amaze him that this was his to touch, to stroke, to protect.
Heero followed Duo around the room, carefully keeping watch, rescuing the precious cable of chestnut from glue, grease, some unidentified but stinky liquid, and contact with the soldering iron. Duo didnt notice, he was completely focused on his work.
Duo finally finished his task and stretched, bending backwards with his fingers laced, arms extended above his head.
"Wow, glad thats done. Ro?" Duo leered at Heero. "Why dont you take me upstairs, snatch a shower and have your wicked way with me?" He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Heero just grinned, "Sure."
Duo pulled the band off the end of his braid as he climbed the stairs. "Geeze, I dont know how I managed this. Usually after a job like that, my hairs full of all sorts of gunk. You know, every sticky, greasy, or stinky thing I get near is in my hair."
Heero gave Duo a soft smile. "Just lucky I guess."
