	The Coconut Crab (Birgus latro ) is a large edible land crab related to the Hermit Crab. A delicacy in the South Pacific Islands. They will grow to 3 feet in length and weight up to 40 pounds. Their pinchers are strong enough to open coconuts which is the only food that they eat.
