John Olson is the author of two books from Black Square Editions, Echo Regime, a collection of poetry, and Free Stream Velocity, a collection of prose poems. He is also the author of Eggs & Mirrors, from Woodworks Press, Logo Lagoon from Paper Brain Press, & Swarm of Edges from bcc press. His literary criticism & essays have appeared in First Intensity, Sulfur, American Book Review, Seattle Weekly, The Stranger, Talisman, Rain Taxi, Denver Quarterly, Exquisite Corpse, Golden Handcuff Review, The Raven Chronicles,Encyclopedia of American Poetry (the Twentieth Century), and Writing On Air, an anthology of writing devoted to air from M.I.T. Press in conjunction with the Terra Nova series at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. His poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous journals & magazines, including New American Writing, Talisman, Sulfur, Lingo, Volt, TinFish, First Intensity, 3rd Bed, 5 Trope, The Germ, Bird Dog, Opoponax, Facture, Stolen Island Review, Monkey Puzzle, and Mantis. He was a participant this year (2004) in the Jackstraw Writer's Program, which included a presentation on KUOW FM, and has twice received the Fund For Poetry Award as well as The Stranger's Genius Award for 2004. He is currently working on a novel about Arthur Rimbaud and Billy the Kid.
