As you sit with your Bible contemplating your past,
when you gave your heart to Jesus, and knew the die was cast,
Your life was changed forever, and with Jesus in control
He'd given you new direction and contentment in your soul.
This wasn't some religion that was way beyond your reach,
But this was in your spirit, like your hear your pastor teach.
Forgiveness was for right now, your sins were washed away,
And Jesus came into your heart to be with you day by day.
Now you can listen to his voice saying "go this way my child,"
and find that though your path may sometimes be a little wild,
You may know your loving Savior is always by your side
To give you courage and love and be a faithful guide.
And if a sudden obstacle brings progress to a halt,
Jesus knows your weakness and every single fault
that has come up against you to take your joy away,
And destroys that problem when He hears you pray.
So you walked with Jesus daily, your whole life through,
You worshiped and adored the one who died for you,
You were never afraid to praise and glorify your Lord,
And tell the whole world about the blessings that He poured,
And you always followed Him, whether sick or in good health
And lived happily in spite of very little wealth.
You'll have the joy of hearing your Lord and Master say
You've been his good and faithful servant every day.
