WHAT'S YOUR PRICE?

Thirty pieces of silver, that's the price they paid. Judas sealed his doom, the balance had been weighed. They put a price on Jesus' head and though Judas deemed it fair, his guilt and anguish were a price far more than He could bear.

Ananias and Sapphira wanted to help Christ's cause. They had been true disciples, but got into Satan's claws. They sold their land for Jesus and declared it with dying breath. But kept back part of the money for a price of eternal death.

There's the twentieth century Christian; Declaring to be faithful and true; In attendance, tithes and offerings, and all else God bids him to do. Using these merits as whip and scourge to rule the house of the Lord, He fails to see his own price as it's recorded in God's word.

And then there's the man in the pulpit - who knows God has placed him there; has been given a flock to shepherd and steer from an evil lair. If a couple of Rams cause friction, should the shepherd step out of the way? And let the rams take over and lead the flock astray?

Or should he use God given authority in Deeds and words concise? And never need to admit to himself:

"My, that was an awful price."
