In Loving Memory of Kenneth Darcy "Ken" Preston July 6, 1967 - July 13, 2004
Our Ken
Ken was born on July 6, 1967, the youngest of 2 boys. He graduated from high school in 1985, then took a business course. At the time of his passing he was employed with the government. Ken was an honest man and treated everyone equally. He was a great son, husband, father and friend.
Ken Preston was a quiet unassuming man who went about his business in a professional and courteous manner. That’s not to say that he didn’t have opinions – he did, but he expressed them with care and compassion. He was kind and generous to the point of being soft-hearted. His family and home were important to him and he demonstrated that in the way in which he respected and encouraged them.
Spending time at the lake was how Ken unwound and relaxed. Fishing with family and friends gave him many happy times. His dream was to build a home at Tobin Lake. Sadly, that did not happen. On July 13, 2004, Ken had a massive heart attack at the Lake and went to join his father in Heaven.
These are two beautiful and loving gifts for Angel Ken from my dear friend, Carol, mom to Angel Michael.
We Do Not Need A Special Day
We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find
Each morning when we awake
We know that you are gone
And no one knows the heartache
As we try to carry on
Our hearts still ache with sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know
Our thoughts are always with you
Your place no one can fill
In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
There will always be a heartache
And often a silent tear
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here
If tears could build a staircase
And heartaches make a lane
We'd walk the path to Heaven
And bring you home again
We hold you close, within our hearts
And there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again
Our family chain is broken now
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Ken was married July 29, 1990, and his daughter was born March 9, 1996.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again... ~ Author unknown
LIGHT A CANDLE
And I will light a candle for you
to shadow all the darkness and bless the times we knew
Like a beacon in the night the flame will burn bright
and guide us on our way
Oh today I light a candle for you.
Seasons come and go and I'm weary from the change
Keep on moving on -- you know it's not the same
And when I'm walking all alone
Do you hear me call your name?
Do you hear me sing the songs we used to sing?
And I will light a candle for you...
You filled my life with wonder -- touched me with surprise
Always saw that something special deep within your eyes
And through the good times and the bad
We carried on with pride
I hold on to the love and life we knew
And I will light a candle for you...
Oh today I light a candle for you.
The mention of my child's name
may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
let me hear the music of his name!
It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul!

To Margaret and ANGEL Ken
My ANGEL My Son
Your Heaven day is again here
What am I suppose to do
When I don't feel you near
I am with you Mom always
In everything you say and do
Though you can't see or hear me
So please for me, don't be blue
Every ANGEL has a window
It is a star, one is mine
That day when GOD calls you
You will have one, in time
Until then Mom, every day
Open your heart and look up
I watch over you always
And I protect you too
PLEASE BELIEVE THAT
