Why is he so sure of himself?
What makes him seem this way?
Can't he see the truth of it,
or can he be that blind?
Or is it something else
that gives him this bravado,
to never let it die?

Could it be that deep inside
he knows the truth of it?
He knows that things are more
than what they seem and complications loom.
That in the end it may already be too late.

Perhaps he simply sees the world
from a different place.
And in his world he sees the one
who touched his heart and knows
that she's the one.

No matter what the complications
he simply can't let go.
Never letting anyone know
the fears within his heart.
The fear that he won't measure up
to the standards she sets forth.
