While listening to the Titanic Soundtrack

My course is laid, the charts are read,
and dangerous waters lie ahead.
In deepest darkness I've set sail
in hopes of running fore the gale.

And while I travel all alone
many have chosen this way to roam.
They let their hearts guide the way
and risk the wreckage come what may.

For in the distance they do see
a future far beyond the sea.
They see a world filled with sun
held in the arms of only one.

Long ago I let her go,
before she knew my heart was so.
Then once again our paths did cross
and she did sense the pain loss.

She took me back to see what would be
and then she fell in love with me.
But once again she slipped away
to escape the skies of gray.

Now I search for distant the shores
in search of something that was yours.
A Love that changed my very soul
and turned to diamond this lump of coal.

She may say that all is lost
and that returning has high cost.
The fears that she has told to me
bring her thoughts of catastrophe.

But on I sail by my own hand
to that far and distant land.
I may not make it cross the sea
and may not find the one I see.

But never will I shy away
for my own heart has fixed the way.
Though she may be in other port
no other love shall I court.

On I'll sail till the end of time
in search of the one that brought me rhyme.
And if I am lost upon this sea
I'll end my days in love with thee.
