HOW TO SUBMIT
Poems must
be sent in prior to February 28th, 2005. We
prefer typed poems but will accept legible written poems. We only accept “hard copies” of the poetry
and we do not accept electronic submissions.
We will not return any of the submissions and the submitted copies will
be destroyed after the selection process.
Students should keep copies of their work. Students coming to the publication event should bring copies of
their poetry. Students must attend
school somewhere in the Chicago area.
Students in home schooling are also welcome to submit.
Each Page
submitted should include:

Any poems
that have more than one page should have this information on every page, along
with page numbers. Copies of the
students’ signatures will appear in the book.

RIGHTS
Students retain all rights to their work. The work must be original and of the student’s own creation. StarWallpaper has the right to use the poem in this anthology, and any reprints of StarWallpaper or Best Of StarWallpaper compilations. The poet will always be given credit for their work.
STUDENTS WHO ARE PUBLISHED
Published students
will have their poem appear in the anthology and receive two copies of the
anthology. Their teachers will be given
copies of the anthology. We would like
to publish more students than we do but size constraints always limit the
number of students we can include in the book.
Each year we choose some Honorable Mention poets. These poets have written work that we would
have included if we had a larger publication.
Honorable mention poets do not have a poem in the book but they will
receive one copy of the book and are welcome to read at the publication release
event. Poets whose work appears in the
book are also invited to read at the publication event.
DEADLINES
We set deadline dates for each issue. The deadline for the 2005 issue is February 28, 2005.
