ANTHOLOGY OF YOUNG CHICAGO
StarWallpaper originally began as a publication of the

January and February of each year, submissions of poetry from Chicago area
students in grades 6 through 12 are accepted for possible inclusion in the StarWallpaper Poetry Anthology. The Puddin’head
Press is proud to be part of the continuing tradition of this excellent
anthology. StarWallpaper’s
mission is to provide a forum for youth to communicate what’s on their minds
and in their hearts. We accept any topic
of poetry and any style of contemporary poetry, prose poem, or rap/flo. Native language
submissions very welcome if they are accompanied by an English
translation.
RIGHTS
Students retain all rights to their work. The work must be original and of the student’s own creation. StarWallpaper has the right to use the poem in this anthology, and any reprints of StarWallpaper or Best Of StarWallpaper compilations. The poet will always be given credit for their work.
STUDENTS WHO ARE PUBLISHED
Published
students will have their poem appear in the anthology and receive two copies of
the anthology. Their teachers will be
given copies of the anthology. We would
like to publish more students than we do but size constraints always limit the
number of students we can include in the book.
Each year we choose some Honorable Mention poets. These poets have written work that we would
have included if we had a larger publication.
Honorable mention poets do not have a poem in
the book but they will receive one copy of the book and are welcome to read at
the publication release event. Poets
whose work appears in the book are also invited to read at the publication
event.
