Interview with Abe Cheimonas of 6Records:

AC: What is your name, age, and occupation?
MH: Mark Hunter, 22, and i'm a construction worker/singer.
AC: What is the meaning behind the name, SHAAR?
MH: it was a song by a HxC band called Training For Utopia. Single Handed Attempt At Revolution. i figure since i'm in this alone, and i am trying to change somethings, i am the Single Handed Attempt At Revolution.
AC: What was the last real band you were in?
MH: Don't Look Back with Oscar Johnson of Hearts Expire. it was pretty much HxC punk.
AC: I noticed one band you didn't mention was The Kaks.
MH: Who have you been talking to?!? i went to one band practice of theirs, and this fuckhead, Jamie Jamison started telling people i was in his band!! they suck, have sucked, and will continue to suck until they day that Jamie stops trying to make "music."
AC: Ok, so no Kaks. I'll try to remember that! (laughs.) Let's talk about some of your music. who is your inspiration, musically?
MH: Stavesacre, Dashboard Confessional, Pedro the Lion, and just myself fiddling around on the guitar.
AC: the song Normal Again is very personal, and very serious. why did you write this as a rap song, and will you ever perform it live?
MH: i was listening to a lot of Eminem and KJ-52, and i just decided to write a rap song about my life. hopefully someone will hear it, say, "hey, i've been there too," and see that life isn't all bad. i will not perform it live, as the guitar work during the verse is too hard to rap and play at the same time.
AC: this is the first time in your musical carreer that you've played piano. did you recently learn, or is this a hidden gift?
MH: I tought myself how to play piano in between Don't Look Back and now.
AC: what is the song, The Angel's Sorrow about?
MH: Tonya Edsall, Charlie Pacharez, and David Hoyle. three of my friends passed away after high school, and i had a dream that an Angel was at their gravestones, mourning what could not be undone.
AC: you mention that you are a Christian in your Bio. what church do you go to?
MH: right now, my wife, son, and i attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
AC: You're Mormon?
MH: i believe a lot of what they say. it makes sense. i prefer to think of myself as just a Christian. i think labels like Mormon, Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopalian, etc really divide the spirit of God, especially when they spend a good part of their sermons attacking each other.
AC: this is the first band you've sworn in your lyrics. what brought that change?
MH: Actually, i had a song called Measure Up that i sang in Don't Look Back, and i swore in that song. i just realized that people expected me not to swear outside in my personal life when i went on stage and said, "I'm a Christian." i got tired of living a lie.
AC: the song Here's to You talks about drinking. i also hear that you're sXe. which is true?
MH: I'm straight edge. i have been since 12/25/97, and i will be until the day i die.
AC: are you going on tour anytime soon?
MH: no. i have too many obligations to go on tour right now.
AC: are you still writing songs?
MH: very much so. i just finished writing two new songs, called Shaving Cream & Perfume, and A Long Awaited Vindication.
AC: thank you very much for your time.
MH: thank you. Grace.
