Red And Blue

These where the first Pokémon GameBoy games. They have different Pokémon from one another. For example... Pokémon Red has Ekans in it, but when you look for one in Blue, it says, "Area Unknown." You must get a Game Link Cable if you want to catch em' all. I have all 150 in Blue, 137 in Red, and 113 in Yellow. I haven't found the time to trade to get 150 in each.

Pokémon Yellow

Yellow, another great Pokémon game. It is very, very similar to Red and Blue, except it was designed after the TV Show and, of course, it features pikachu. At the beggining of this game, you get a pikachu, instead of the normal starting Pokémon, and recieve a Bulbasaur, a Charmander, and a Squirtle at various points in the game. As you can see, Yellow is easier than Red and Blue, but the graphics are better, some Pokémon learn more moves, and certain Pokémon are found in different places or are not in the game at all! Plus, you get to fight Jesse and James. If you have Red/Blue, though, you should not need to get this game, unless you love Pikachu, of course. Oh, I almost forgot. Pikachu follows you around! This game is where you find all the stuff you would in Red and Blue, but they are in different places. You also get Pikachu as a companion, and he will follow you around on your journey. Gary gets and Eevee, which you where supposed to get, but he snatches it from you, so Professor Oak gives you an untamed Pikachu for your partner. He can talk to you and tell you how he is feeling.

Hey, You, Pikachu!

This is a game where you talk to Pikachu through a microphone. He will go fishing, dance, or play music on command. He can do many more commands, but first he must like you to obey you. He will find friends from many different species of the Pokémon. Examples: Oddish, Bulbasaur. Pikachu VRS has you take control of Pikachu in a very different way. It will be the first Nintendo game to use VRS (Voice Recognition System) which allows you to actually talk to Pikachu. He reacts to what you say. Like if you call him cute, he will smile at you. But if you call him stupid, he will get angry. In the game you meet and interact will other Pokémon too! From the Screenshots, the graphics look pretty good, and I imagine all the Pokémon look like they do in Pokémon Snap - really cool! You control Pikachu with a Nintendo 64 microphone, vocally giving him simple instructions and telling him where to go in the microcosm he inhabits. In addition to playing with a variety of items, Pikachu can interact with several other Pokémon that inhabit the area and befriend him. The accessory that comes with Pikachu Genki Dechu is a set that makes up the voice recognition system. This accessory consists of an ear phone with an attached microphone that connects to a voice recognition device. This is the thing that plugs into one of the N64's controller slots. Once you start up your N64 with the Pikachu cart, you will see a beautiful and colorful polygonal forest accompanied by the usual happy music. Kewl, hey?

Gold & Silver

Gold and Silver, released on October 16th, 2000, use the same concept of the Red and Blue games, a quest to become a Pokemon Master by catching and training many different creatures. Pokemon versions Gold and Silver contain at least 251 pokemon, keeps the time and the day of the week, has many things made easier, like you can assign the bike to the select button, and is bigger and harder. A huge spin on a great concept, Gold and Silver are worthy as the first true sequels to Pokemon versions Red and Blue. These are the latest version in the Pokémon GameBoy series. You can catch Neo, or New Pokémon in these. Like Red & Blue, you must trade to get them all. Your game can keep track of time and the day of the week. This is 3 years later to Red & Blue, so you get to have: a Clock, Cell Phone, and Radio. Not compatible with Pokémon Stadium and you can't trade any new Pokémon or Attacks on to any other versions than Gold or Silver. I have both games.

Pokémon Snap

In Pokémon Snap, you can take pictures of a total of 63 Pokémon. Can you snap the elusive Mew? There are certain levels you must your way up to using points from snapping good pictures. If you get certain numbers of points, you get extras that make your Picture Taking career easier. These items are necessary for you to take pictures of some Pokémon. These items are: (in the order you get them) Apple, Pester Ball, PokéFlute, and Super Speed. In this game your a photographer who takes as many pictures of Pokémon as you can. You go around in a 3D world (rather than the dull 2D) and try to take as good a picture as possible. Some Pokémon need to be lured out using an apple or something else they like, while some Pokémon will attack you. Check out the Player's Guide for more information.
