Pallet Town

Welcome to Pallet! You start out in your tiny room, playing SNES. Walk over to the computer and withdraw a Potion. Don't bother visiting any other buildings, there's nothing there. Instead, walk to the grass patch north. Professor Oak should bring you to his lab. There you can choose a Pokemon(Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.) I would recommend starting with Bulbasaur or Squirtle. Now, you can fight Pokemon! What's this? Gary wants to fight! Beat him and win some money. Go north to where Prof. Oak found you and continue on. Fight all the Pokemon you see to raise your Pokemon. All you can find are Pidgeys and Rattatas.

Viridian City

Welcome to Viridian! Heal your Pokemon and explore the city. When you walk into the Mart, the clerk will give you Oak's Parcel. Head back to Pallet Town and deliver the package and Oak will give you a PokeDex!! Now you can catch wild Pokemon! Now go back to Viridian and buy some PokeBalls. At the Viridian City mart, you can purchase: PokeBall: 200P Antidote: 100P Paralyze Heal: 200P Burn Heal: 250P If I were you, I would head east and defeat Gary so you can catch a Spearow and the Nidorans early in the game. Now, head north to the Viridian Forest. You will see strange trees along Route 2. Don't worry about these now, later on you will be able to teach certain Pokemon to CUT them down. Continue north and you will reach the entrance to the Viridian Forest!

Viridian Forest

The Viridian Forest contains several things that help you on your journey. It has non-Gary trainer fights, item balls, and more. When you come out of the entrance area, you will see basically…a forest. (Duh!) Head left until you reach a sign (overhead) Then head north until you see an item ball. Go left, then down, then left, then up, then left, then down, then left, then up. After you defeat the Trainer near the end… you have found your way out of the Viridian Forest!

Pewter City

Welcome to Pewter! Here, you should heal your monsters and visit the Museum. The PokeMart sells: PokeBall: 200P Potion: 300P Escape Rope: 550P Antidote: 100P Burn Heal: 250P Awakening: 200P Paralyze Heal: 200P Now, its time for the big line-up…Ash Ketchum on Brock! Head towards the Pewter City Gym and enter it. Fight the Jr. Trainer and head towards Brock. Your best bet on Brock is water or plant type. His line-up is a level 12 Geodude and a level 14 Onix. If you defeat Brock, he will hand over the Boulderbadge and TM 34. (Bide) Head towards Mt. Moon (to the right.)

Mt. Moon

The path to Mt. Moon is filled with Trainers. Defeat them all to train your Pokemon. Luckily, there is a PokeCenter in front of the first dungeon. Heal your Pokemon and enter Mt. Moon. When you enter, head up until you reach a sign. Then, head left. At the wall, head north then left, and then head north. Walk left along the upper wall and when you reach another wall, head directly south. Defeat the trainer and head north and get the Moon Stone in the upper left-hand corner. Now go into the ladder and head along the pathway. Until you reach another ladder. Now, go up and to the right. Go down the stairs and head left towards the other stairs. Follow this pathway until you reach the Supernerd. Defeat him and get one of the fossils. Take the ladder nearest the Supernerd and then left to the other ladder and you have beaten Mt. Moon!

Cerulean City and Sea Cottage

Welcome to Cerulean! First, heal your Pokemon after the long Mt. Moon. Then, explore the city. You will notice a bike shop that will sell you a bike for 1000000P. Don't worry, you can't even have this much in the game. Don't go in the Gym quite yet, you'll want to train your Pokemon more. The Mart sells: PokeBall: 200P Potion: 200P Repel: 350P Antidote: 100P Burn Heal: 250P Awakening: 200P Paralyze Heal: 200P

Now, head north and there will be Gary waiting for you! Defeat him and head along Nugget Bridge. After you defeat the Rocket at the end, head to your left. When you FINALLY reach Sea Cottage, Bill will be in the form of a Pokemon. Make him human again and get the S.S. Ticket! Head back to Cerulean and heal Pokemon and get ready to square up against Misty! Misty carries water monsters, so I would recommend that you use plant type. Ivysaur's Vine Whip will fare well. Misty's line-up is a level 18 Staryu and a level 21 Starmie. Defeat her and she will surrender the Cascadebadge and TM 11(Bubblebeam). Head towards the place where Team Rocket stole the TM that teaches Dig. Walk straight ahead and out the door. There, there is a member of Team Rocket who has stolen TM 28 (Dig). If you defeat him, he will hand over the TM. Now head south and there is a Daycare Center. You can stash one of your Pokemon in there until it has reached a higher level. Go into the Underground Path and you will see Vermilion City.

Vermilion City and the S.S. Anne

Welcome to Vermilion! Heal your monsters and explore the town. There is a Pokemon Club here and if you talk to the leader he will give you a bike voucher. The Bike Voucher allows you to obtain a bicycle for FREE! The Mart sells: PokeBall: 200P Super Potion: 700P Ice Heal: 250P Awakening: 200P Paralyze Heal: 200P Repel: 350P

You can't go to the gym yet, because you haven't got the HM 01(Cut). You will see a dock and it leads to the S.S. Anne. To get aboard, you need the S.S. Ticket. Walk aboard and there are several Trainers who LOVE fighting. In the kitchen, there is a trash can that has a different type of PokeBall. It is called a GreatBall. This ball allows you to catch Pokemon easier. In the right-hand corner of the Upper Deck, Gary wants to fight you yet again. If you defeat him, go to the closest ladder and it will take you to the Captain's room. He will gladly give you HM 01(Cut) if you cure him of his sickness. Now, you can get off the S.S. Anne. Head towards the gym and CUT down the bush in front of the Vermilion City Gym. Here is the hard part, you have to find TWO secret switches in the trash cans. HINT: The switches are right next to each other. Lt. Surge has a variety of Electric Pokemon, so use some Ground ones. His line-up is a level 21 Voltorb, level 18 Pikachu, and a level 24 Raichu. Now, head towards Diglett's Cave and go into it. Follow the path and you come out on Route 2. In a security building, a man will give you HM 05(Flash) if you have at least 10 monsters. FLASH allows you to get out of the Rock Tunnel. Head back to Vermilion, then to Cerulean. West of Cerulean, there is a bush to CUT down. Follow the path and come to a PokeCenter. Left of the Center is a cave known as the Rock Tunnel.

Rock Tunnel

The Rock Tunnel is one of the hardest places in the game. I would buy some Repels before you enter the dungeon. Use a Pokemon's Flash technique to help you see. When you enter, fight that first Trainer and continue along that path. Go on that ladder and, once you get off the ladder, head down and to the left. Defeat the PokeManiac and go up. Follow that path until you reach another ladder. Go into that ladder and head down and to the right. Then, go into that ladder go across and down to the left. Defeat all those trainers and you will reach another ladder. Go into it and go down. Then, follow that path until you come to another ladder. Get on it and you have beaten the Rock Tunnel!

Lavender Town

Welcome to Lavender! - This town is basically nothing, except for its main feature The PokeTower. The PokeTower is a tower that, once you beat, gives you the PokeFlute to awaken the Snorlaxs blocking your way to Fushia City. The Mart sells: Great Ball: 600P Super Potion: 700P Revive: 1,500P Escape Rope: 550P Super Repel: 500P Antidote: 100P Burn Heal: 250P Ice Heal: 250P Paralyze Heal: 200P You don't really need info on the Poketower, except that there is a place to heal your Pokemon on the fifth floor. At the top, defeat the three Rockets that are holding Mr. Fuji captive and rescue him. He will give you the PokeFlute! At the sound of the PokeFlute, any sleeping Pokemon will awaken( even Snorlax) Heal your monsters and head eastward. In the upper left-hand corner of the route is an underground path. This path leads to Celadon City.

(Use the things on the Rooftop Square to get to Saffron City) Here comes the hard part of Celadon. The Game Corner. The Game Corner is for gamblers, but the Game Corner's basement is for trainers. Team Rocket has chosen the basement for their new hideout, and you must get the Silph Scope from Giovanni. To get to the basement, go to the Game Corner and talk to the man guarding the poster. After you defeat him, press A on the poster and then go to the right. Now, go down that flight of stairs, and then go down the one next to the one you just got off. Now, go down and to the right and go up. Go on that flight of stairs and then go left and down one space into the twirly zone. Go left and down and go on the spinner on your left. Then, go down onto that spinner. Go left two spaces and go down until you see two spinners going diagonal from each other. Go on the top one and Go left one space, then down. Go to the left and then up to the flight of stairs. Go on the stairs and go into the upper room. Talk to the man in there, defeat him, then talk to him again. Right next to him is the Lift Key. Grab the Lift Key and go to the closest elevator. Go to the Basement floor 4. Talk to both Rockets guarding the door and they will let you in. Defeat Giovanni and he will give you the Silph Scope! Navigate yourself out and head towards the Gym. Erika is the leader and she uses grass type. So, I would recommend fire type. Her line-up is: Victreebel level 29 Tangela level 24 Vileplume level 29 Defeat her and head towards Lavender to beat the PokeTower…(Go back to the Lavender Town part of the walkthrough for info on the PokeTower.) After beating the PokeTower, head towards Saffron (To get to Saffron City, give one of the Saffron City guards fresh water.)

Saffron City

Welcome to Saffron! This city is the biggest city in Pokemon Island. Its main feature: Silph Co. Silph Co. has 11 floors of Team Rocket members. The easy way to beat Silph Co. is to go to the fifth floor and go to the lower left-hand corner. Go into the warp, walk one space down, get back on the warp, and head down 1 space and to the right. Get the Card Key and head to the third floor. Go down the middle path and go into the left door and open it using your new key. Go on the warp and there is your rival! Defeat Gary and talk to the man near you. Get Lapras and head into the warp you haven't been in.Open the door with the Card Key and defeat Giovanni. Talk to the owner and you get a MasterBall! I would wait to duplicate this( trick on Psyduck's Pokemon Gym homepage) so you can use it more. Now, get out and go to the Fighting Dojo and beat it. Choose either Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan. Head to the Saffron City Gym and defeat it. Sabrina's line-up is: Kadabra level 38 Mr. Mime level 37 Venomoth level 38 Alakazam level 43 Now you have beaten all of Saffron!
