René Angélil, the younger of two brothers, was born on January 16, 1942, in Montreal, Canada, but is parents are originated from Syria. He studied on the College Grasset and on the school Les Clercs de Saint-Viateur in Outremont, Montreal. When he was twenty years old, Angélil formed with Jean Beaulne and Pierre Labelle, a pop rock group, "The Baronets", who were known as "Quebec's Beatles." This group had some hits in the 60's as "C'est Fou", "Mais, C'est tout" and "Hold Me Tight". After the dissolution of the group, René Angélil began managing artists. He managed the career of two great singers of Quebec: René Simard and Ginette Reno. In January 1981, Ginette had decided to change manager, when he heard the young voice that has changed his life dramatically and allow himself to realize his largest dreams. In 1987 and 1988, he won the Felix Award of manager of the year.
René Charles Dion Angélil, the first child of the couple, was born in Florida, USA, on January 25, 2001.
Celine is René's third wife: On December 11, 1966 he married with Denyse Duquette, from whom he had a child, Patrick, born on January 28, 1968. In 1973 he married with Anne-Renée Kirouac, and Jean-Pierre (March 23, 1974) and Anne-Marie (June 12, 1977) were born.
