AARON CARTER in concert at Thanksgiving Point with True Vibe, Myra, Leslie Carter and A*Teen; one performance only.

LEHI -- If you took a quick glance around Thanksgiving Point Tuesday night, you would have seen baby dolls and teddies -- but we're not talking girls in their nighties. We're talking real dolls brought by a few young fans and a slew of teddy bears -- each wearing little T-shirts proclaiming, "I Love Aaron Carter."

And the crowd of kids -- largely toddlers to preteens, and predominantly female -- certainly do.

The kids, of course, weren't there on their own. There were parents galore on hand to supervise. Some looked rather startled; a few got up and boogied (much to the embarrassment of their offspring).

But Carter's concert was like a Saturday kid movie matinee. The entertainment is aimed at the younger set.

And Carter had good aim. He kept the kids going through 15 songs and 75 minutes at Thanksgiving Point (a beautiful setting, with nightmarish traffic and parking -- including a parking lot that's the worst dust bowl since the Great Depression).

The kids weren't bothered that Carter's voice sounded nasal and rasping. ("Maybe he has a cold," suggested my 10-year-old daughter.) Or that he missed more notes than he missed basketball shots during "That's How I Beat Shaq."

All they cared about was that Carter is 14, blond, cute and energetic. That his set included "Bounce," "I Want Candy" and "Aaron's Party." They went home happy.

It was a three-hour party featuring boy-band True Vibe, 15-year-old Myra and Swedish sensations A*Teen -- all of whom were slick, professional and talented.

The weakest act was Leslie Carter, Aaron's older sister, who was so nasal and so off-key through a four-song set that it was hard not to wonder if she was indeed ill.

Not that the kids -- who were waiting for Aaron -- noticed.
