***January 28th***
"Happy Birthday Nick." Nina said as him and Nikki walked in the door.
"Thanks!" he said smiling. "Jeez I can't believe we are still here." He said realizing how long he had been staying at Brian's house.
"Hey it's the birthday boy!!" Brian said as he walked in the room carrying Nicola.
"Dada, Cola Nick!!!!" she giggled reaching out for him. "Cola Nick!!!" she repeated still trying to reach him.
"Hey Nicola!" he said taking the little baby in his arms.
"Nick!! Cola loov Nick." She said still giggling as she reached for his nose.
"Ah I love you too Nicola. You are so cute!" he said tickling her tummy.
"Man this is sad!! My daughter loves my best friend more than me!!!" Brian joked smiling at Nicola and Nick.
"Yeah right!! Have you ever paid attention to how this girl clings to you and Nina?" Nick said laughing a little.
"I know, that's because I am the most popular!!" he responded mocking Nick.
"That's not true but if you want to believe that it is true go right ahead, although everyone else knows I, Nick Carter am the most popular in the group!!" he said with sarcastic cockiness.
"Anyway!! The rest of the guys just called from AJ's and said they were on their way over. They said that they are taking Nick to play basketball some place as part of his birthday celebration.
"Cool, Finally. I haven't gotten to play in forever!" he said grinning.
"Ah you two are so cute together!!!" Nikki cooed as she wrapped her arms around Nick's waist cuddling on the opposite side of where he was holding Nicola.
"Colas Nick!!!" she whined as she reached for Nikki's hand.
"Oh my gosh, did she really just say what I think she said?" Nick asked laughing.
"I think she was telling Nikki that you are Cola's not Nikki's." Nina said laughing too.
"I don't think so Missy!! Nick is mine!! I love him too much to just give him away like that!" Nikki said tickling Nicola's side.
"Hee-hee, Ni-Icky." She laughed
"You just call me icky?" Nikki asked pretending to be offended.
"Ni-Icky!!" she giggled loudly.
"No she said Nikki, She is saying your name." Brian said laughing at Nikki's mistake.
"Oh, I knew that!!" she said smiling.
"ok, ladies we need to get going. I hear the guys' cars out front." Brian said taking Nicola from Nick's arms and pushing Nick toward the door. "I'll meet you outside, I got to say bye to Nina and my baby." He said turning to Nina.
"Um k, whatever Rok." He said as he walked over to Nikki quickly giving her a kiss then turned and went out side.
"Ok, you girls have to come to the court around 4 this afternoon." Brian whispered in Nina's ear before kissing her cheek. He turned and started walking toward the door.
"Um Bri, Hun aren't you forgetting something??" she said looking at him trying to keep from laughing.
"I don't think so, told you times and everything. I've got my keys, shoes, socks, shorts, and shirt. I don't think I'm forgetting anything…wait did I brush my teeth this morning?" he said stumped as to what he was forgetting.
"EWWWW gross Brian!!!" Nikki shrieked in disgust.
"You brushed your teeth after breakfast. And you've done your hair. What else could you be forgetting?" she said wondering if he'd ever realize he was still holding Nicola.
"Um…a kiss?" he asked looking totally unsure because he knew he'd already kissed her good bye.
"Not that, you gave me a good bye kiss already Mr. Littrell."
"Then what???" he said frustrated that he couldn't figure it out.
"How many three pointers you think Nicola is going to make Bri?"
"What? Nicola isn't going. I don't get it."
"Then why are you still holding her?"
"OH! I get it now." He said smiling, as he turned red.
"Here, let me hold her." Nina said as she walked over and took her from his arms.
"Ok, Bye now. I love you Nina. And I love you Nicola." He said as he kissed the top of Nicola's head then kissed Nina's lips gently.
"I love you too Bri."
"Colalov dada!!" she said reaching out for his face. He moved a little closer to her and she put her hand on his cheek then kissed his cheek.
"Ah, I love you Nicola!" he said surprised by his daughter's action but happy. Although it was a sloppy, wet, baby kiss, it was special because it was the first time she kissed anyone. Plus she was one of the most important people in his life.
***Later***
"Oh my gosh our little Nicky is growing up!!!" Brian said as he pinched Nick's cheek.
"Shut up Brian!! I ain't that much younger then you!!!" he said slapping Brian's hand away from his face.
"Yall remember when Nick sang his first solo in a stadium?" Brian said laughing.
"Oh yeah I remember that!! He got up there and got the hiccups and stage fright. He forgot all the words to the song and just stood there starring at the audience. That was hilarious." AJ said laughing and as he told the story everyone else starting remembering that day and started laughing too.
"Hey!! Shut up I was only like 13!!! Plus it NEVER happened again!!" he said as he face got redder and redder.
"Awe is our little Nickolas Gene Carter embarrassed?" Kevin teased.
"What about the time we pushed him out of our hotel room in his green little boxers things?" AJ chimed in laughing harder.
"Yeah, the opening act was right across from us, all girls! That was too funny." Brian said nudging Nick's side.
"You guys stop picking on me!!!" he whined as he plopped down on the floor.
"Yeah!! You guys stop picking on my baby!!" a female shouted from the other side of the court. They all turned to see Nikki walking over with a cake in her hands and Jane, Nina, Kristin, Andrea, Jessica, Bob, Aaron, BJ, and Angel all following with presents in hand except Nina who was carrying Nicola.
"Nikki!!!!!" Nick shouted as he got up and ran over to hug her.
"Ah No!!! Don't you even think about it or this cake will be in your face Nickolas!!!"
"Ok got it!" he said as he put his hands up and backed away with an extremely sad look on his face.
"Ah, I'm sorry I just don't want this all over my clothes Hun!!"
"It's ok." He said as he leaned in and kissed her cheek. " I still love you."
"I love you too Nick!" she said out loud then whispered, "Now go say hi to your family!" she said as she lightly nudged his side.
"Ok," he nodded walking over to his mom and dad. "Hey mom, Hey dad!" he said as he hugged each one.
"Hey son, Happy birthday!" Jane said returning the hug.
"Happy Birthday Son." Bob said hugging him too.
"Thanks!" he said smiling. "Hey Aaron!" he said as he hugged his little brother. <"Happy b-day Nick." Aaron said happy he could see his brother again. He hadn't seen or heard from him since Christmas.
"Hey Bee Jay!" he said as he hugged her too. "Hey Angel!"
"Hey Nick!" she said hugging her brother.
"Where's Les? I ain't seen her in a long time!!" Nick said looking around.
"She is coming later with her friend." Angel stated as she walked over to the rest of group.
"Oh, ok. Cool."
"Hi Brian, Hi Kevin, Hi AJ, Hi Howie, Hi Andrea, Hi Jessica, Hi Nikki, Hi Nina."
"Hey Angel!! How have you been since Christmas?" Nikki asked as she hugged the young girl. She had gotten close to all of Nick's family while she was with him for Christmas.
"I have been very good, how about you Nikki?"
"Well with your big brother in the hospital I was really worried for a while!! But he made it through without too much difficulty."
"I know, just too bad isn't it?" she said sarcastically.
"Yeah I was kind of looking forward to getting rid of him!!" Nikki said jokingly. "Nah just playing, Nick is so sweet. I never want to lose him."
"Nina may I hold Nicola?" Aaron asked sweetly.
"Of course you may Aaron." She said as she handed Nicola to him.
"She is so sweet." He said grinning just like Nick always did when he held Nicola.
"Cola Mama!!!" she whined reaching for Nina.
"Ah no! Cola Aaron! Not Mama!" he said as he tickled her sides, just like Nick always did.
"Oh my gosh!! I knew they were a like but, whoa. Not that much. Not to the point where they say and do everything the same." Nikki said watching Aaron and in her mind remembering Nick do the same things.
"Cola Nick!!!" she squealed thinking it was Nick holding her instead of Aaron. "Colaloov Nick." She giggled.
"No, Aaron, I'm Aaron."
"Nick! Cola Nick!!" she said giggling at Aaron.
"Hey Nick!! Come over here real quick!" Aaron shouted to his brother who was talking to his mother and father. Slowly Nick made his way over to his brother to see what he wanted.
"What's up shorty?" he said calling him by the nickname he has given him.
"Nicola wants you, or thinks I am you. Watch." He said then started tickling Nicola.
"Cola Nick!!!" she laughed as he tickled her. But then she looked over and saw the real Nick. "Cola Nick!!!!!!" she screeched reaching out to him.
"Ah my Cola!!! Cola loves Nick!!! Right Nicola?" he said as bent down so he could look into her eyes.
"Nick!!! Cola Nick!!!" she whined trying to grab for him.
"Here Shorty, let me hold her for a second." He said as he took Nicola from Aaron. "Hey Lil Cola" he cooed bouncing her on his hip.
"Cola Lov Nick!" she giggled quietly as she started sucking her thumb and cuddled up to Nick. "Cola Mama!!" she whined looking at Nina.
"Oh come here my baby girl!!" Nina said as she walked over to Nick and wrapped her arms around Nicola.
"Can't she stay with me Nina?" Nick pouted.
"I'm sorry she is getting sleepy. She is long over due for her nap. But you can hold her when she wakes up."
"Ok, ok. I'll go talk to other people." He said smiling. "Good Night My Little Cola." He said as he kissed her cheek.
"Cola Nick!" she cried reaching out to him again. He turned and leaned down to look Nicola in the eyes.
"Hey Nick! Come on almost time to cut the cake!!" Jane yelled over to Nick. He turned and told her to hang on and just as he did Nicola kissed his cheek.
"Lookie there Nick, It's your birthday present from Nicola!" Nina said laughing.
"Thank you Cola! That is definitely the very best present I'll get." He said grinning at her. He meant what he said too. Nicola was like a little sister to him. He loved being around her. *Best Birthday yet, best.* Nick thought as he walked back over to the rest of the group with Nina, Aaron and Nikki, whom he had his arms wrapped around.
