"Ok, I have a Math project for you all to do…It will take 2 weeks. I am going to split you into groups of two and it will be male-female groups. Together you will work out a budget. And the groups are as follows: Delores Kandow and Justin Robinson Carrie Homes and Darren Bishop Yasmine Kart and Jordan Mitchell Jen Kay and Jesse Kacer Jasmine Adams and Paulmer Brown Nichole Vaughan and Nicholas Carter Chandra Spears and Will Walker Marcela Troyo and Jake Pacer Josephine Marie and Adam James Andrea Carbal and Noah Garjewel Erin Coy and Mike Johnson"
"Can we switch groups please???" Nick asked as he looked over at Nikki (Nichole). She was the new girl and looked like a total geek to him.
"No, Sorry all groups are final. You're not always going to like people you have to work with…Get used to it. That's life. Now Boys get up and sit next to the girl you are assigned with." Nick and the other guys got up and walked over to their partners.
Nick slunked down into the chair next to Nikki. "Ok now, I will be coming around to tell you how much money you will be making and what types of jobs you each have."
"Oh goody" Nick mumbled as he looked over at Nikki who was writing down everything the teacher said. 'Such a freaking goody goody.'
"Ok Nick and Nichole. Nick you are a Navy seal in the navy and Nichole you are a Waitress at Olive Garden. Your monthly income together is $30,000 and you also have a bank account with $10,000 in it. And you have one baby. So with that money you must find a Daycare and a place to live, utilities, transportation and still have some for food. Have Fun!"
"Oh yeah this is gonna be so much fun." Nick mumbled just loud enough for Nikki to hear as soon as the teacher left.
"Ya know Nick it's not exactly my dream to spend time with you either so you can shut up with your stupid under your breath one liners cuz I am sick of it!"
***6 years later at a BSB Tour Audition***
"Ok now I'd like to thank all of you for coming out to audition for the Backstreet Tour. And the dancers are… Kelly Hart, Nikki Vaughan, Natalie Morris, Mynina McKenzie, And Andrea Shoesmith. Once again thank you everyone for trying out and congratulations to those who made it."
"So Nikki you glad you made it??" Mynina asked excitedly.
"Yeah I guess. I just really don't want to have to talk to Nick ever again but oh well I need the job."
"Still trying to get everyone to believe you know Nick, Nikki?" Kelly sneared as she walked up behind them.
"I do know him…but I don't want to talk to him. He was in my class in 8th grade. Ask him who his 8th grade Math and LAR teacher was and I'll bet you he'll say Mrs. Knowlton."
"Ok I'll do that!" Kelly said challengingly.
"Ok I need my dancers!" Fatima called to the group of dancers. "No, Nick you need to be over a little bit more to the left."
"Here?" Nick asked.
"Yeah that'll do." Fatima said quickly. "Ok Nikki your partners with Nick, Andrea with A.j., Natalie with Kevin, Kelly with Howie and Mynina with Brian."
***After practice the hotel***
"So Nikki where you from?" Nick asked looking at her approvingly, which made her feel self-conscience so she pulled her sweatshirt around herself tighter.
"Orlando…Can you please excuse me." Nikki said as she walked over to Mynina and Brian.
"Hey Nina." Nikki said as she approached them.
"Hey Nikki!" Mynina said smiling happily. Nina was always happy and always fun to be around. "Brian this is Nikki and Nikki this is Brian." Nina said still smiling.
"Nice to meet you, Nikki." Brian said extending his hand out.
Nikki shook his hand as she said "Nice to meet you too, Brian."
"So Nikki where are you from originally?" Brian asked.
"I am from Orlando…I would ask where you're from but I already know you're from Kentucky."
"Yep Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky." Brian said in a exagerated southern accent while pretending to be holding on to the straps of overalls. Nikki and Nina laughed.
"Hey Nikki did Nick remember you?" Kelly said laughing loudly.
"Oh Give it a rest Kel!!" Nikki practically shouted.
"Oh Yes Ma'am!" Kelly said sarcastically.
"Kelly, Stop it. You're being rude." Nina said calmly.
"Ok sorry Ninnie." Kelly said apologetically. No one was ever mean to Nina…no one could be. Nina was always high spirited and happy. Even Kelly didn't say rude things to her.
"So Hi Kelly! I'm Brian!" Brian said trying to start conversation again.
"Hi Brian and Nice to meet you."
"So how old are you three?"
"I'm 18." Kelly said
"I'm 20 and Nikki who is completely dazed right now is 19." Nina said looking at her friend who was starring off into space. "Nikki…Earth to Nikki! Calling Nikki… Can You hear me?"
"Oh what huh?" Nikki said and everyone laughed at her.
***Later in Brian and Nick's room***
"Bri I am gonna love this tour!"
"Wonder why…could it be because you just love touring or could it be because you like one or all of the dancers?"
"I like ONE of the dancers! I ain't that bad!! You're thinking of A.j. and all the girls he always likes!"
"So which dancer is it? Wait, no let me Guess…Nina…Nope…Kelly…Nope…Natalie…Nope…Andrea...Nope not unless you want your neck broken by AJ. So that just leaves Nikki!" Brian said chuckling.
"You know you are a pain in the butt because you knew the whole time!"
"Yeah I knew! I know you pretty well Frack after all these tours and crap."
"Yeah, but I don't think she likes me…I was trying to talk to her and she just walked away…She just happened to walk over to you…" Nick said jealously.
"AND Nina." Brian added "Nina seems pretty popular and Kelly seems to have a mouth on her…which reminds me she asked Nikki if you had remembered her…kinda strange."
*Should I remember her??* Nick thought to himself. "Why would I remember her??"
"I don't know. Maybe that Kelly girl is crazy or something!"
* She did say she was from Orlando. I wonder if she was in my school or something?? WHERE would I know her from?!?*
*****THE NEXT DAY*****
"Come on Girl let's go shopping before the show tonight! We have 8 and a 1/2 hours!" Nina whined.
"Nina it's only 8 in the Morning! You know AM...Time to still be asleep!"
"Oh come on we're only here for one night. I wanna check out the town!!" Nina said in her always-cheerful voice. Just as she said that some one began knocking on the door.
"I'll Get that." Nina said looking at Nikki who was still in bed. Then she turned to head to the door.
"Who is it Nina??" Nikki shouted but just as she did she heard the unmistakable voice and knew who it was.
