***In Front Of The Elevator***
Nina and Brian pulled a part at the sound of the elevator dinging and walked in. Brian's face had turned bright red and Nina's was slightly pink. Brian looked at Nina who was looking at the floor. He reached for her hand again. She looked at him but didn't pull away. He leaned down and kissed her again but this time he wrapped his arms around her and she wrapped her arms around him.
***At The Pool***
Everyone was sitting in the hot tub. Suddenly Nick stood up and got out. He walked over to the pool and did a canon ball into the water. But A.J. and Andrea hadn't noticed Nick leave because they were BUSY…doing other things.
"Oh My gosh! Rea! I can't believe it's you!!" A voice called from behind A.J. Andrea pulled away to see who was there and was she ever surprised to see her EX-boyfriend, Marcus. She didn't like him. He was very controlling. She looked at him…he hadn't changed. He was about 5'8" and had nice muscles. He had blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Who's that Andi? That's not…"
"ANDY?" Marcus said laughing loudly. "Ain't that a guys name Rea?"
"Shut up Marcus!" Andrea said sharply. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh come on Rea! It's fate! We're meant to be! That's why I am here. God wants us together!"
"NO he doesn't and STOP calling me Rea! That's not my name!" Andrea shouted.
"Who is that Andi??? If it's who I think it is, you better leave her alone now dude!" "I AM her boyfriend." Marcus said rudely.
"Sorry buddy you're sadly mistaken! She left you! Andi is mine! And she always will be! So Get LOST!" Andrea smiled. Hearing A.J. say that made her feel good.
"You're the one who is mistaken here!" Marcus shot back. He reached down and grabbed Andrea's arm and pulled her out of the hot tub.
"Ok That's It! Leave her alone!" A.J. said standing up.
"Oh No, I got lil Butt sucker Backstreet Boy mad!" Marcus said laughing. A.J. stepped out and punched the guy in his gut. Marcus flew against the wall. A.J. stepped forward and punched him again, this time hitting his face. Marcus reached up and tried to hit A.J. but he blocked it.
A.J. stood looking at Marcus. Then said "So what was that bout getting a lil butt sucking Backstreet boy mad? Do see what happens when you get one of us mad? Remember that!" He turned around at the sound of Andrea's voice.
"Alex Stop! Please!" she begged. But at that moment Marcus got in his first good hit. A.J. slipped backwards and hit his head hard on the rail. A security guard ran over and grabbed Marcus. A.J. jumped up wanting to go after Marcus again. His Better judgement won over his anger.
"Are you ok?" Andrea said looking at the back of A.J.'s head where there was a large gash. "Oh My Gosh! You have a huge gash on the back of your head!" Andrea said worried about A.J. She'd never seen him this mad before. "Come over here and let me see if I can fix the cut."
"No, I'll be fine!" A.J. said bitterly.
"Alex, don't be like that!"
"I'll be however I want!" A.J. said and walked away. Andrea ran after him.
"Alex, I didn't do anything wrong! I don't see why you feel you have the right to blame it on me! It's not like I knew Marcus was gonna be here!" "I know! I just don't feel like talking right now! I'd rather be alone right now." A.J. snapped.
***In The Hall***
Brian and Nina were walking down the hall headed to the pool. Still holding hands. They ended up making out the whole time they were in the elevator. Brian looked ahead of them and saw A.J. coming out of the Pool area. "Hey Bone, Where ya going?"
"No where." He mumbled.
"Something wrong A.J.?" Nina said looking at his face.
"NOTHING! Dang Nothing is wrong ok! Just Leave me alone!" he grumbled in a very angry voice as he pushed past them.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to…" she said turning around. "What happened to your head A.J.?" Nina asked noticing the large gash on the back of his head. He ignored her and just walked over to the elevators. Just as Brian and Nina got to the door to the pool area it opened and there stood Andrea.
"Hey Andrea, where ya going? And what put A.J. in such a bad mood?" Nina asked curiously.
"I'll tell you tomorrow…After I figure out what to do…I gotta get going up stairs to see what Alex is doing."
"Oh. Ok" Nina, said understandingly. Brian and Nina walked into the pool area. Nick was the only one left in the pool.
"You ready to go swimming Nina?" Brian said looking at the water with an evil grin on his face.
Without looking up to see what Brian was doing Nina said "Yep…come Ahhhhh!!!" She screamed as Brian pushed her in. But what Brian forgot to do was to let go of her hand. He fell in with her. "BRIAN! Why'd you do that??"
"You did say you were ready to go swimming…I was just helping you in. Hey look I ended up helping myself into." Brian said laughing and Nina joined in.
"Hey Frick, Hey Nina." A voice said from behind them.
"Hey Frack…how'd you get back there? Last time I saw you, you were swimming laps way over there." He said pointing to the other side of the pool.
"I can hold my breath for a really long time." Nick answered. "So what you two been up to?"
Nina and Brian looked at each other. "Um nothing really just talking." Brian said not faltering at all.
"Oh cool." Just then the door opened and Nikki walked in wearing a showy bikini. Nick's face lit up. He couldn't have been any happier.
"So can I join you guys?" Nikki asked looking at Nina.
"Sure!!" Nick said with a little too much enthusiasm.
Nikki looked at him and was gonna laugh at him…because she was obviously talking to Brian and Nina. Or was she? Did she really come down because Nick was there? "Cool." She said as she waded in. "So what are you guys talking about?"
"Nothing, Brian and Nina just got here." Nick said calmly.
"What? You two just got down here??? You two left like 45 minutes ago! What were you two doing...Making out or something?" Nikki said meaning it to be a joke but she looked at Nina's face turning red and knew it was true. Nina shot her one of those…Ok Time to shut up! Looks.
***Later on that Night/Next Morning***
Nick is walking Nikki to her room after they went for a 'real quick' walk. "I can walk to my room myself ya know. I'd be just fine."
"I know I just like spending time with you." Nick said sweetly.
"You wouldn't have said that the first time we met."
"Yes I would have you just didn't let me! I was trying to talk to you but you just walked away."
"You really don't remember me do you?"
"Umm…No, should I? I met you at Practice."
"No. Think back. Way back." She said referring to 8th grade.
"Like how far back is way back?"
"6 years. In about 8th grade."
"What, 8th grade?"
"Just think about it!" Nikki said when they reached her door. She gave Nick a kiss on the cheek and went in her room. Chapter 6: Just-In The Nick Of Time
***6 AM the next day***
"Nina? You a wake?" Nikki said looking over at Nina's bed.
"Yeah, and I'm over here." Nina said from the bathroom door. "Why are you up so early? I thought you hated waking up early."
"I do…I'm just excited I guess! Today is our First show!! I can't wait!!" Nikki said enthusiastically.
"I am too. But at the same time I am nervous!" Nina said. "I gotta go get…" she started but was stopped when she heard someone knocking at the door. "I'll get that! This is getting to be a habit!" Nina said walking to the door and she opened it. "Oh Hey Nick!" Nina said a little confused.
"Hi, is Nikki awake?"
"Yeah hang on. You can come on in." Nina walked back to where the beds were and looked at Nikki's empty bed. Then she walked over to the bathroom door and knocked on it.
"What do you want?" Nikki said her voiced muffled because of the shut door.
"Nick is here and he wants to see you."
"Oh…ok hang on!" Nikki answered and quickly opened the door. "Where is he?" she whispered, Just in case Nick was in the room. Nina didn't say anything just pointed in the direction of the door. "Is he inside?" Nikki asked and Nina nodded. Nikki hurried out of the bathroom and ran to where her bed was. Frantically she looked all over. "Nina, have you seen my shoes??"
"Nope. Just wondering why are you dressed like that?"
"Me and Nick are going to go play basketball."
"Oh, I thought you didn't like Nick."
"I never said I didn't like him. I just said I didn't want to talk to him…But hey I can change my mind right?" she said with a grin. Nina laughed. Nikki leaned down and looked under her bed and pulled out one of her shoes and slipped it on. She looked under her bed again and pulled out her other shoe and put it on, then tied them both. "Ok, do I look ok?" Nina looked at her again…Nikki was wearing a pair of black Nike shorts with the white Nike swoosh at the bottom of the left side. And she had on a white Nike shirt with a black swoosh at the top with white socks and white low top shoes both of which had black Nike swoosh marks on them. Her hair was held back in a ponytail with a white scrunchie. "Yeah you look ok for going to play basketball."
"Ok, That's good, I hope." Nikki said walking to where Nina had said Nick was waiting. "Hey Nick! Ready to go shoot some hoops?"
"Umm…I need to talk to you."
"Ok."
"Come on and walk with me."
"Ok." She said and followed him into the hall. "So what's up?" she asked curiously.
"I finally started thinking last night…"
"Wow, That's a first right Nick? I am proud of you!" Nikki said jokingly.
"I am serious…I started thinking about 8th grade."
"Oh." She said and her happy smile faded. 8th grade hadn't been the best of all years for her. That was the year her father had died and so they moved back to Orlando where she was born. She had been living in Seattle, Washington since she was 5. Moving all the way to Orlando was hard. And the people in her class weren't exactly friendly. Especially Nick…She had a crush on him from the first time she saw him. But he was never nice to her. "Listen Nikki, Nichole I am sorry about 8th grade and I would like it if we could just start over again. 8th grade was a long time ago and I am just hoping that things have changed." Nick said looking her in the eyes. How could she resist a face like that?
"Sure, but can you do something for me?" Nikki said her smile returning.
"Sure, what do you want me to do?" Nick asked curious to see what she wanted. Anything she asked he would do…She was so real and sweet and pretty…He loved everything about her.
"Don't cancel our basketball game…cuz I got up early for this! And plus I love Basketball!"
"No problem! Let's go. I hear there is a YMCA about a block from here." Nick said glad to hear she still wanted to play…he loved basketball too.
"Cool! Let's go!" Nikki smiled with a bright smile.
Nick smiled at her and said, "Okay." They walked to the elevators and waited for it to come up. When it did they got on and went to the main level just before the elevator doors opened Nick put on the hood to his sweatshirt and pulled some sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on. He didn't want any fans to recognize him.
***In Nikki and Nina's Room***
Nina was just finishing putting on her make up when someone else knocked on the door. "Coming!" Nina called as she walked out to the door. She opened the door and found a medium sized guy standing there. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. And one black eye and a cut on his lip. "Hi, umm who are you?"
"I'm a friend of Andi, My name is Joe."
"Oh, Andrea never mentioned you. But since you're a friend of hers come on in." Nina said cheerfully.
"I can't stay I am suppose to be staying with Andrea and she isn't there. I was hoping you might have a key?"
"Yeah we all have master keys. Um how bout I give you the one that works on her doors." Nina said trying to help the poor guy out.
"That'd be great!"
"Ok, I'll be right back I have to go get it from my night stand."
"Ok, I'll wait right here." The guy said with a phony smile. Within seconds Nina came back with a small card in her hand. "Here Ya go…That'll get ya into Andrea's room." The guy looked kinda confused. "It's a key card…this little bar unlocks the door." She said pointing to the small brown bar on the card.
"Oh, Ok. Thanks again, You've been a huge help to me!" the guy said thankfully.
"No problem." Nina said happily. She loved helping people. She shut the door when he left. And went back to finishing up her make-up.
***In Kevin And Howie's Room***
"Howie I'm gonna go see if B-Rok, Nick And A.J. wanna do something today. You wanna come?" Kevin hollered into the back of the room.
"No, I am going out to see a movie later with Jessica."
"Ok. See Ya round D." Kevin said as he walked out the door. He walked down the hall to Nick and Brian's room and Knocked. Brian answered.
"Hey Cous, I was just coming to see you and Nick wanted to do something today?" Kevin asked Brian.
"Sorry Kev, I made plans with Nina and Nick already left with Nikki. But Nina and me were just going to go ice skating…Nina's Idea. Wanna come?"
"Could I bring Natalie?" Kevin asked hopeful that he could.
"Sure! Come on in and we'll give Natalie and Nina a call."
"K." Kevin said as he walked in the room. Kevin called Natalie first. "Hey Natalie, I was just wondering if you might want to go ice skating with Me and Brian and Nina?"
"Sure, when?" Natalie answered glad she was gonna get o spend the day with Kevy.
"Umm…Hang on." Kevin took the receiver away from his face and said "Hey Bri when we leaving?"
"An hour" Brian replied.
"An hour." Kevin said repeating what had Brian said. "k, see ya then!" Kevin said then hung up the phone.
"k, I gotta call Nina and tell her you and Natalie are coming too." Brian said picking up the receiver. He put in her room # and waited.
"Hello?" Nina said into the phone.
"Hey Nina, It's me Brian."
"Oh Hey Bri!" she said glad he had called her…she loved talking to him!
"I was just wondering if it'd be ok if Kevin and Natalie came with us today too?"
"Sure, that'd be fine!" Nina said happy he wasn't calling to cancel.
"K, can't wait! I'll see ya then. I'll stop by your room before we leave." Brian said happily.
