I looked up at the nice exterior of the gray building I was standing in front of. Then I looked back down at the slip of paper I was holding. "Yep, this is it." I muttered to myself and pushed the door open.

A receptionist greeted me immediately. "Hello, how may I help you?" The lady asked with a big smile on her face. I smiled back at her.

"I need to find one of the dancing studio’s in your building." I replied using a friendly tone.

The lady chuckled. "Well dear, most people do. This is a dancing studio after all."

I laughed with her. "Yes, I suppose that’s true. Johnny Wright sent me. I’m supposed to be choreographing NSYNC’s new tour." I explained.

"Hm, well just let me check a few things... Johnny told me you would be arriving." She muttered as she shuffled through a file folder filled with papers. "A hah! NSYNC’s new choreographer, 18 years old, originally from PA. Yes well, it’s all here. Their studio is down the hall, last door on you’re right." She informed me as she handed me some papers. "As soon as you feel it’s time for them to practice in their compound, just say the word. These are the directions on how to get there, and emergency numbers."

"Thank you! The compounds their own like, private stage right?" I questioned to be sure.

She nodded. "Exactly like the stage at the concerts but that’s only one part of the place. The other part is like a house for them." She confirmed. "All of them are in there so feel free to go in whenever you’re ready."

"Thanks." I said one more time, and she smiled before she went back to her desk full of paperwork. I picked up my bag and headed nervously down the hallway.

Now, while all this was happening out here, here’s what was going on in the studio. "C’mon ya’ll, a girl choreographer could be just what we need for this tour." JC said trying to cheer up the guys.

"Personally, I think it’ll rock. I mean, she’s gonna do all the cute little moves...it’ll be hot." Joey thought out loud smiling to himself as he stretched his legs out.

"Dude, it’s a girl. Probably just some fan who got lucky. We’re guys so the tour should be choreographed by guys. It’s as simple as that." A stubborn Justin said to anyone who would listen.

"Ya’ll, just be nice. If this girl quits, there’s no one left. We’d have to go through the entire hiring process again and we don’t have time for that." Lance pointed out the business side of things.

Chris was staying relatively quiet about the whole thing. Everyone looked at him to see what he would say. He shrugged. "I don’t know. It’s just a choreographer, ya know? As long as we know the steps and like them, does it really matter?" The 4 other guys looked surprised. Usually, it wasn’t Chris who came up with the sensible answer.

Just then I walked into the room and everyone fell silent. I looked at them all quickly and smiled. "Hi, I’m Trinity." I told them all standing in the doorway.

Lance took over. "I’m Lance. That’s JC, Justin, Chris, and Joey." He said with a light southern accent. He returned the smile and nudged JC in the ribs.

JC, however, didn’t say anything. "Is there any place I could change?" I asked uncomfortably looking at my low riding jeans and my white "Angel" shirt.

"What? You’re not gonna wear that?!" Joey joked coming to his senses. I laughed while the other 4 rolled their eyes at his comment.

"There’s a bathroom over there." JC said pointing across the room at another door.

"Thanks." I said walking past them all. I had just shut the door when the talking about me began.

"She’s hot." Joey commented first.

"Thanks Joe, like we couldn’t tell." Chris said.

"She’s stereotyped." Justin sneered. "Blonde hair, big innocent eyes, 5’4", 5’5", nice curves, seems to have one of those sweet, cheery personalities..."

"Yeah, exactly the kind of girls you go for. Dude, what the hell’s your problem?" JC asked with a confused look on his face.

"Nothin, forget it." Justin said, already wishing practice could be over.

I emerged from the bathroom wearing a baby blue spaghetti strap shirt and baby blue sweatpants with a black stripe running up and down the side. I pulled my hair into a quick ponytail and I was ready to go. "Alright, from what I hear, you already know ‘Byebyebye’ and ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’ from the music video’s so you wanna go over those first then, real quick?" I asked.

All the guys agreed and I put the CD in the CD player and the music started up. I went to the front of the room and the guys gathered behind me like they would in a concert. We were doing alright till about the middle of ‘It’s Gonna Be Me.’ I was watching the guys carefully and I saw Justin do part of it wrong. I paused the music and in a friendly tone I said "Hey Justin, when you say ‘Baby when you finally, get to love somebody...guess what?’ the second time, it’s different from the first."

"I know." He said staring at me.

"I was just makin sure cause you did the same thing both times and I just wanted to make sure you understood it went like this." I told him demonstrating the first chorus and then the second chorus.

Justin looked so frustrated when I was finished I thought he was gonna blow up. "That’s what I did. I’ve done if a lot longer then you have." He pointed out to me.

"I know, but I was just pointing out it was wrong." I said realizing we were gonna get ourselves into a not so comfortable situation.

"Well, thanks for sharing." Justin said coldly. An uncomfortable silence settled over the room while I stared long and hard at Justin.

"Let’s just do it again." I said cheerfully trying to keep the atmosphere bright and energetic as possible. I restarted the song and we did it again. I noticed Justin messing up at the same part again.

For a minute there, I debated on whether or not I should tell him. ‘Trinity this is ridiculous! Of course you should tell him! If someone messes up, they gotta know.’ I thought, angry at myself for even thinking about not telling him.

I paused it again and I think they all could sense what was coming. "Watch." I instructed and did the chorus by myself. "Now you guys...1, 2, 3, 4." I counted and watched them all. I watched Justin more closely and he did it right. "Good." I smiled.

‘She looks cute when she smiles.’ Justin thought to himself. ‘Dude, you can’t say that now! You already told the guys you were against it.’ He quickly cleared his head and began to focus on the steps once again.

After 45 minutes of straight on working I called a 10-minute break and headed towards my towel and bottle of water.

JC walked over to where I was at and said "You’re doin great so far, just thought you might wanna know."

I smiled at him and took another drink of my water bottle. "Thanks. Ya’ll are doing great yourselves."

He lowered his voice. "And I wanted to apologize about Justin, you’ll get used to him, and I’m sure he’ll get used to you." He told me.

I chuckled. "Look, you don’t have to apologize for him, it’s cool. I know his type...he’s already used to being the center of attention, the favorite...so when he messes up he just doesn’t wanna hear it." I said being honest.

JC started to look a little worried. You could tell he didn’t want any conflict because they couldn’t afford to have me go, plus the working environment would be really bad if 2 people didn’t get along. "He’s not really like that. He’s just been having a tough time recently and I think it’s all getting to him." He tried to explain.

"JC, don’t worry about it. I’m sure things will clear up between us. Just as long as he knows I’m gonna tell him what he needs to work on. He’s gotta be able to handle that." I told him blotting my face with a towel.

"I’m sure he will." JC said confidently. "He’ s just been having a bad past couple of days, ya know?" I followed JC’s gaze to where Justin was sitting on the ground just staring into space. He didn’t look too happy.

"Ya know what? I’ll go over there and try to see what’s up." I said to JC and walked over to where Justin was. "Can I sit here?" I asked softly.

He looked up in surprise. "Uh, sure." He replied.

I sat next to him. "Ya know, I’m sorry I’m not what you pictured me to be. I know you don’t have to like me or be my friend or anything, but you gotta be able to at least take my criticism." I confronted him.

"It’s not you." He told me running his hands through his curly hair. He sighed. "Sorry I was acting like an ass. I’ve had a stressful few days." He told me with such a look of sadness on his face, I couldn’t describe it.

"Well I know we haven’t known each other that long or whatever, but if you need to talk to someone... My door is always open."

Despite how sad he was, he cracked a smile. "And what exactly is your door’s address?" He questioned.

I laughed. "Now see, this Justin I could get used to." I grabbed a notebook and pen from my bag and scribbled down my apartment address.

"So Trinity, how old are you anyway?" He asked me.

"I’m 18...I’m gonna be 19 in the middle of July. I would ask you the same question but I already know you’re 19." I answered.

He wriggled his eyebrows at me. "Have you been reading up?" He joked.

I laughed. "In you’re dreams!" I exclaimed and he began laughing too. "So," I said after things had calmed down "is this the Justin I’m gonna get in practice or am I getting...That’s what I did?" I questioned switching to a low, grumpy voice.

"Oh, shut up! That’s not how it was at all!" He exclaimed starting to laugh again.

While this conversation was going on, JC and Lance were talking too. Lance looked over and saw us laughing. "Look’s like Justin got a change of attitude real fast." He commented to JC amusingly.

"Dude, look! J’s gonna hit on her." JC said looking over at us too.

"Naw, not here with all of us. Mr. Smooth One will wait till they’re alone. I’ll bet on it." Lance replied looking back at JC.

"20 bucks?" JC offered.

"Deal. I bet he waits till they’re alone, you bet sometime during practice." Lance confirmed the bet.

"Deal... How are they gonna get alone?" JC challenged.

"Easy. He’ll get her address or phone number...something." They both looked back at us, and there I was sure enough, writing my address down.

Lance grinned at JC as if to say "20 bucks please." JC groaned and dug around in his pant pockets till he pulled out a 20. "Fine." JC sighed.

"Alright, back to practice." I announced trying to get up off the floor. Justin had just gotten up, so he extended a hand and helped me help. "Thank you." I said smiling while brushing my pants off.

"Whoa whoa, I don’t get a hug for that lovely gesture?" He questioned jokingly. He gave me a flirty smile and I gladly gave him one back. ‘What’s the harm in flirting?’ I thought to myself.

"Of course. Where was my mind?" I replied laughing reaching up and giving him a hug. Justin was facing the guys and my back was towards them and while I was hugging him he pretended to grab my ass.

I of course, didn’t see it but the guys did. Joey and Chris tried to hide their laughter while JC looked at Lance expectantly. Lance wordlessly reached into his pocket, and gave JC his 20 bucks back.

JC grinned and said "Pleasure doin business with ya."
