" LAUGHTER IS THE SUNSHINE WHICH DRIVES THE WINTER FROM THE HUMAN FACE" - Victor Hugo
Despite the fact that laughter is not a common theme in Hugo's 'Les Miserables', his novel has sold millions of copies worldwide and the musical is one of the most popular in the world. The characters Hugo created back in the nineteenth century, Jean Valjean, Javert, Fantine, Cosette, Marius, Eponine, Enjolras and Gavroche to name but a few are still as relevant and believeable to day as they were when Hugo first wrote them down.
