A World without Thieves

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Action/Drama NR. A con-team couple (Andy Lau & Rene Liu) head west after taking a city businessman for his BMW. But an encounter with a naive young carpenter travelling home with his life savings challenges their fate as thieves. I am a huge Andy Lau fan but it was the film's cinematography that really made me sit back in my chair ans say WOW!! I have said in numerous reviews just how good the Asian cinematography is but this just takes it to another level. There's a simple story here but if you look under it you see a cast of characters that are all multi-layered and ones you can really relate to and care about. Andy Lau to me is one of the best actors in the world today but he's not the only star shining bright here, Renee Liu and Bingbing Li are both fantastic in their female leads. A world without Thieves is one film maybe those not familiar with Asian Cinema should see as it seems like one that could be successful on a international level as well. What you have here is a neatly woven plot with characters that fill the screen and not just take up space and that with a great musical score and breath-taking cinematography you have a film experience worth seeing. Own this wonderful film today. The DVD comes with bonus features that include:
