A Drama/History/Music Rated PG-13. Fictionalized account of the last year of Beethoven's life. A modern spin of the life story of Beethoven by introducing a young woman who is assigned to be his copyist. This spin to me made the film better in alot of ways, one of which was showing the human side of the musical genius more so than any other film that was made about his life. The cast was magnificent, Ed Harris just seems to flow to these kinda real-life roles and always rises to make the character his own by being the person he's playing. He was simply brilliant. Also Diane Kruger does a great job as the young woman who begins working with him finds out first hand the brutal side of him. The performance of his ninth symphony was breath-taking and a sight for both the eyes and the eyes. I highly recommend this film to any fan of drama and of music, own the DVD today.
