Masters of Horror: Sounds Like

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Horror NR. Deeply affected by a personal tragedy, an office drone realizes his sense of hearing has taken on extraordinary capabilities that could drive him mad with insanity. Reading the Synopsis you might say to yourself that this doesn't sound scary at all and may have already dismissed it but I suggest you don't. What makes this gem work so well is that it takes awhile to get to where it's going, slowly building the story and suing amazing sound effects that really create the atmosphere and mood of the film. Director Brad Anderson has really created a world for this lead character that is trenched in torture, imagine having superhuman hearing so intense that any little sound drives you to the brink of insanity. That's what you have here and it's the sound effects that are the real stars in this episode. A slow building, painful path that builds to a very satisfying ending that is sure to please any fan of the genre. I found this to be one of the more original and entertaining episodes from season two so far. Released by Anchor Bay Home Entertainment. **** Out Of *****
