Rick is sick of his drug dealing life style and is looking for something more meaningful in his life. Rick like his buddies are what they call "strays", someone without any real family to speak and it's what help lead Rick down the wrong path he finds himself on. One day Rick mets Heather and for once in his life he thinks that this is maybe the turning point he was hoping for bu between his cohorts getting on him about it and his street matters he finds are to shake it begins to threaten the relationship he so desires. Before Vin Diesel became a house hold name he was Director,Writer and lead actor in the film "Stray". This is by no means some masterpiece that we all never seen before but it is at times a thought-provoking drama that has some very good moments to it. The film is not all drama, it contains some witty humor as well that helps to keep the viewer from becoming too over-whelmed with the drama that is taking place. The cast is pretty impressive as well, Vin shows some great chemistry not only with his girlfriend played by Suzanne Lanza but also with actor Joey Dedio who plays Fred, their time together on screen is terrific, you would think they have acted together in many film's before. Strays was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival and for good reason, considering the Indie budget and at the time Vin's lack of experience not only in pictures but as a writer and director as well this was a big accomplishment and one that deserved to be noticed more at the time I'm sure. The film does have it's flaws but it's also a nice piece of cinema that shows that it's never too late to make changes in your life. Fan's of Vin Diesel's will surely want to pick this title up but also this will appeal to anyone that enjoys a good drama. This Limited Edition Steelbook Packaging makes a nice collectible for all fan's of Vin Deisel Released by First Look Studios. *** 1/2 Out Of *****
