A Lawyer Walks Into A Bar is a lurid tale of lawyers and lawsuits and America's fascination with both. To sue or not to sue, that is the question. The documentary explores the influence of the law and its practitioners on American culture, while following six characters as they do whatever it takes to become lawyers themselves.

This is Director Eric Chaikin's follow up to his award winning Documentary "Word Wars" and once again he has done it by making another highly entertaining, often funny look at what type of stress people have on them while preparing for the bar. From the outside this title may look like a bit of a bore but it's much more entertaining than that and I was drawn into and hooked from it's opening scenes. The film gives you a look at what it's like to be a part of the Law profession and it also gives us a look at several people preparing for their exam, some you will be rooting for while others you will not care as much about. What I got out of this is being a Lawyer is not all that's it's cracked up to be but it is scary, funny and truly insane at times, this film really opened my eyes to a lot of what goes on behinds the scenes in a court room. I recommend this film to any Lawyer, students training to become one or just anyone like myself that loves a good documentary. The cameos by the likes of Scott Turow and Nancy Grace and Alan Dershowitz were incredibly insightful and provocative regardless of how you feel about the justice system in this country. Lawyer or not this is a highly entertaining and eye-opening film. Released by Indican Pictures. ***** Out Of *****
