On December 21, 2012 four strangers on a journey of faith are drawn to an ancient temple in the heart of Mexico. For the Mayans it is the last recorded day. For NASA scientists it is a cataclysmic polar shift. For the rest of us, it is Doomsday.

I sat down to this film expecting a film about the end of days with a bit more faith related plot involved and that's what I got. The Asylum releases another film about the end of the world on their "Faith Films" label and I felt in the end they made another successful film from their efforts. The plot can be a little preachy at times but it never goes overboard on it and let's the viewer decide on their own faith well providing a nice mixture of suspense and drama. The special effects here I think were really well done, sure it could of been better with a little more but knowing this is a low-budget effort I think the film-makers did a great job. The cast which includes two well known faces in Dale Midkiff and Cliff De Young did a fine job as well as the entire cast for that matter. If your looking for another big budget Hollywood popcorn film like "The Day After Tomorrow" then look elsewhere cause this is a Christian Epic and a well made at that. Doomsday successes on many level but even if it just makes you re-think your life or if it makes you tell your loved ones how much you care about them a little more then it has done a fine job. Released by Faith Films. **** Out Of *****
