In 35 A.D., following the crucifixion of Christ, earthquakes tear apart the Roman Empire and the sky turns black midday. Emperor Tiberius (Max von Sydow) calls upon investigator Tauro (Daniele Liotti) to determine the cause of this sudden upheaval. Tauro interviews treacherous governor Pontius Pilate, an insane man named Judas and poor fisherman Simon Peter and soon discovers that the strange phenomena may be linked to Christ's execution.
The Final Inquiry is a well made film with great cinematography. The film will be a pleasure for both fan's of it's amazing star's and any fan of film's such as this set in the Roman Empire or just any kind of historical film. The cast is terrific and features some actors in roles I have never seen them play before, one actor in specific is Dolph Lundgren, this is a role you would not expect to see him in but he is excellent at it. Also Mónica Cruz, yes the sister of actress Penélope Cruz is as beautiful as she is talented and lights up the screen in every frame she is in. The film of course has a pro-Christian message which is to be expected here so some with different religious beliefs may have their own opinion on the film so beware of that. But as a fan of such Adventure films I have to say I found this film to have beautiful cinematography,breath-taking battle scenes and a cast that delivers on every level. The DVD comes with special features that include:
widescreen (1.78:1 aspect ratio) with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound as well as English, French and Spanish subtitles.
