A gun-for-hire "Hitman" is a genetically-engineered, elite assassin known only as Agent 47 hired by a group known only as 'The Agency' is ensnared in a political conspiracy, which finds him pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military as he treks across Eastern Europe. But even 47 couldn't anticipate a "random equation" in his life exactitude: the unexpected stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a mysterious Russian woman.
I didn't know what to expect from this film as most movies that are made based off a video game turn out to be pretty bad but this was a surprise to me and was solid entertainment. If you played the video games then you know Agent 47 is a cold-blooded killer so yes the movie is violent, also it was nice to see they didn't go too far with his relationship to the Russian woman cause in the game he's not what you would call a romantic. Timothy Olyphant did a great job in playing him and kept on character which is important here as many that will want to see this film are those that have not only played but loved the games as well. Hitman will never win any awards but for what it is, a action film, it does a fine job and is well paced, has some good humor and loads of action, what more could you ask for? Also I need to state that even if you never played the games you will still find this a very good action film so it is for anyone that is a fan of action. So with plenty of blood and explosions and a hot chick check Hitman is a fun movie experience and one worth owning on DVD. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
