SG-1 searches for an ancient weapon which could help them defeat the Ori, and discover it may be in the Ori's own home galaxy. As the Ori prepare to send ships through to the Milky Way to attack Earth, SG-1 travels to the Ori galaxy aboard the Odyssey. The International Oversight committee has their own plans and SG-1 finds themselves in a distant galaxy fighting two powerful enemies.
The film takes place after the series so this is foremost a movie for fans first. As the film opens it attempts to fill in the blanks I guess for those that did not watch the series but I felt it was not really needed as even those that never watched the show on Television will enjoy this as the movie moves along, after-all you doesn't like a good sci-fi? I for one enjoyed the original film but sad to see I am not much for TV so I never did see the series at all but it didn't take long for me to get into this one. The team's hopes are also confirmed that the Ori ascended beings were destroyed in the previous attack into Ori space through the supergate. Like I said before this is really a conclusion to the series for fans, there's old elements that pop up along the way which most will not get the full pleasure from since they never seen the show. Still I found this to be entertaining with a strong cast, good action and well-done special effects. There's seem to be never enough sci-fi so this is a welcomed release and one any fan of genre should find enjoyable. The DVD comes packed with bonus features that include:
