Five childhood friends during their last summer together in Lenexa before going to college. Their bond is tested when a disturbing secret comes to light and they are forced to set out on a quest to protect and redeem the reputation of one of their own no matter what may result from their actions. I have to tell you that with all the "junk" put into theaters today this was a refreshing piece of cinema. The story is multi-layered as are the characters, each bringing something different to the film and all combined it adds up to a film that can stand on it's own against classic coming of age film's like "Stand by Me". The cast which is a mix of young talent and older veterans is fantastic, Michael Rooker hasn't been better as the shady cop and Billy Baldwin is very funny and adds the much needed humor in the film. The rest of the cast is also excellent including Jason Ritter,Michael Beach and Josh Stewart,Chris Klein and Michael Beach to name some. Also let's give credit to Actor and now Director,Jason Wiles, for also writing the a clever story and bringing together a great cast of characters that bring the film to life with issues that relate to all of us. Every once in a awhile you stumble over a film that leaves you not only happy you seen it but it makes you wonder why this film never got a bigger push in cinemas, Full count is a gem and a drama well worth checking out. I found it very hard to find anything wrong with this movie, it hit on all cylinders including acting and story and all the way to it's wonderful cinematography and direction. Full Count is a film that reminds you why you love cinema so much in the first place, own this DVD today. Released by Allumination FilmWorks. ***** Out Of *****
