A writer who arrives to Rome only to find somebody is using his novels as the inspiration (and, occasionally, the means) of committing murder. As the death toll mounts the police are ever baffled, and the writer becomes more closely linked to the case than is comfortable.
Anchor Bay this week releases The Dario Argento Collection, the box-set features five of his best films including this one, this is one of two titles that will also get it's own release as well. It would be hard to pick which film is his best but Tenebre is considered by many to be his masterpiece. Besides what seems to be his favorite films among fans and critics this is also the easiest as far as story-line goes to follow as well his his most violent giallo. Tenebre also has has great plot twists mixed with sudden bursts of gore that will keep any fan at the edge of their seat. This is a well-crafted and scary film with an excellent cast. I am not sure this is his best work but it certainly is a masterpiece. The DVD comes packed with Special Features that include:
Widescreen Presentation enhanced for 16x9 TVs
