With her husband gone and the stress of family life rising, Mom suffers a psychotic break due to postpartum depression that compels her to exterminate her children: ages 10,7,4, and 3 months. Now hope for the family's survival rests on the shoulder of Jimmy, the eldest son and surrogate man of the house. Using his wits and intricate knowledge of the farm, Jimmy must try to protect his siblings while fending off the woman he has always known and loved as his mother. Thus, it comes down to the most epic of battles, Mother vs. Son, in the most horrific of scenarios. I can only hope that that those effected with postpartum depression never, ever go this far on the edge. I was looking forward to seeing this film after watching the trailer as it looked like it might be one of those gems you never heard of and I can say it is. The film starts off setting up the characters enough to then begin the mayhem and once it starts it does not stop till the final frame. In a film such as this one it is very important you the cast is able to play their roles in a believable way and I do not think there could of been any better actors chosen to play them. For starters Colleen Porchis perfect as the deranged mother that has lost all sense of reality, not only did the do a great job as far as make-up and such to make her look worn out and let me tell you that was not easy to do since this woman is about as beautiful as they come, but also she did a terrific job making this character so believable that it was disturbing at times. Also Ridge Canipe did an excellent job as Jimmy, the oldest of the children trying to save his family from the one woman he trusts and loves the most. This boy is a fantastic young actor and has a great career ahead of him. The rest of the cast is very impressive as well. The film is being compared to such film's as "The Shining" and "Psycho" to name a few, but don't to fooled into thinking this is just another "rip-off" because this film stands on it's own as an intense, gripping, terrifying thriller and grabs you by the throat and never lets good till the thrilling climax. After see so many watered down thrillers and horror films I was glad to see a film that isn't afraid to be anything less than it is..a gut wrenching, high-octane thriller that will have you on the edge of seat gasping for air. Released by Allumination FilmWorks. ***** Out Of *****
