A scientist from the failed Philadelphia Experiment leads a team of Navy Seals back in time to the Cretaceous Period to rescue the first team he sent back during the 1940s. Things go wildly awry though, when on his return he accidentally brings a giant, man-eating dinosaur back through the portal and into modern-day, downtown Los Angeles.
One thing I liked about this film from the start was it takes no time getting to the meaty part of the story, there's not a moment during the film when I felt bored and you cannot say that about many movies today. I am not going to sit here and say this is an original masterpiece because it isn't but believe me I have seen worse. Over-all the cast is very good including veterans Michael Gross,Greg Evigan and Christopher Atkins. Also actor Dean Kreyling who plays Chief 'Bud' Stark is a scene stealer, he is incredibly funny here and was a highlight to me. This is an Independent film so it is not without its flaws, the cgi is pretty weak for the most part but it looks a lot better as the film switches to night scenes later into it. Listen, I can't see people bashing a movie like this because you know what you were getting before you put the DVD in the player. 100 Million BC made its debut on the Sci Fi Channel to a huge 1.08 share rating, the highest they have had in three years. If your looking for major Hollywood effects and explosions look elsewhere but if your sick of the same old stuff hitting DVD every week and are ready for something different then this is the movie, a fun and highly entertaining movie if given the chance. The DVD comes with bonus features that include,2.35 Cinemascope Presentation, 5.1 Surround Sound, 100 Million Years Back in Time, Blooper Reel. Released by The Asylum Home Entertainment. *** 1/2 Out Of *****
