When an ancient warlord summons a mythological beast, a young hero must complete a series of quests to awaken the dragon that will defeat the monster.

There seems to be a thing for dragons lately with the numerous films coming out dealing with them. But I am not going to complain as I enjoy them and all the other elements that come with them on film. The Asylum has done a few now that have either been about of had dragons in them and this being their latest offering. This deals with a warlord who summons a fire dragon so he can gain complete domination over the land, The warlord is played by Brian Thompson, with his rugged features and deep voice this role fits him perfectly and he does a great job with it. The young hero,Arkadi that must find these stones in order to bring out the ice dragon to defeat the warlord is played by Daniel Bonjour, he was excellent as well and seemed to have an innocence about him as well as charm that made his character stick out. Then you have Maxim the man that must lead the young hero on his journey, Marc Singer, the Beastmaster himself is at his best here and it is really great to see him again, he steals every scene he is in. Jennifer Dorogi is also very good as a warrior, she handles her fight scenes well and and her beauty makes for some great eye-candy as well and that is never a bad thing. The story is well written and the sets and costumes are terrific. The special effects are the best I have seen from The Asylum and are used only to enhance the film which works perfectly. I highly recommend this to any fan of good vs evil fantasy, the film is character driven and sports a fantastic cast that delivers. Released by The Asylum Home Entertainment. **** Out Of *****
