Set in the Grand Canyon, a team of Smithsonian researchers have stumbled across a lost walled Aztec city guarded by some evil spirits, including a "great flying serpent of death." As days turn to weeks, Susan Jordan, the daughter of the professor leading the expedition, assembles a team to rescue her father and his colleagues from the clutches of the ancient Aztec warriors and their horrible serpent god.

This is certainly one of the better Sci Fi Channel movies to ever air and for more than one reason. For starters Director, Farhad Mann does a fantastic job at getting the most of out the limited budget that he was supplied with. One problem with these movies are the effects which a lot of time are poor at best but here Farhad does a good job only using and showing the creature when it is most important which really cuts down on the cheese factor. He also did a great job keeping the film moving at a brisk pace, never allowing the viewer to become bored. The cast is another bonus, you can't go wrong having Michael Shanks and Shannen Doherty in your film as both are very popular on their own as well as coming from popular Television shows as well. Both do a great job here and Shannen is as cute and sexy as ever. The cinematography is also excellent here, it allows the beauty that is the Grand Canyon to become a part of the story which really adds to the film's over-all pleasure. The story can be a little rough at times but it does a good job sticking to the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel for the most part. As far as made for Television movies go this one is a step above most and a rather entertaining movie that is sure to please any fan of fantasy/adventure. If you enjoy the genre then I recommend you picking this DVD up today as I found Lost Treasure to be a highly entertaining adventure that had me glued to the TV all the way till the credits rolled. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
