First Born

Thriller Rated PG-13. Laura's expecting. Her husband, Steven's a loving guy but has little time for her. Her mom lives thousands of miles away. Forced to give up on her dreams, she's always been a bit edgy. A C-section drives her over the edge, making her see things in a different light. A creepy babysitter doesn't make things any better. She begins seeing things, trusts no one, as she goes into self-destruct mode. First off I am a big fan of Elizabeth Shue and it's great to see her in a film again, she plays a dancer who has to put it on hold when she becomes pregnant and her and her husband played by Steven Mackintosh decide to move out of the city into a more quiet country home. But the birth seems to create a dark world for her and she begins to take a dive not only into depression but a state of paranoia as well. The film really keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing till the shocking ending that will have you thinking even more for days later. The acting by all is top notch and the music and settings really helped set the mood and gave the film the creepy feel it needed. A highly recommended thriller. Released by First Look Home Entertainment. **** Out Of *****
