Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Comedy/Horror Rated R. You know legendary maniacs Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger. Now meet Leslie Vernon, the next great psycho-slasher. Nathan Baesel of INVASION stars as Vernon, a good-natured killing machine who invites a documentary film crew to follow him as he reminisces with his murder mentor (Scott Wilson of IN COLD BLOOD), evades his psychiatrist/nemesis (Robert Englund of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), deconstructs Freudian symbolism, and meticulously plots his upcoming slaughter spree. But when the actual carnage begins, where do you draw the line between voyeuristic thrills, mythic evil, and good old- fashioned slasher movie mayhem? This film was a blast, I heard some really good things about it but as it started I wasn't sure I was going to like this as much as others have but as it went along I began to really enjoy this film. If you want you can think "Scream" but way more intelligent and funnier. The basic premise is that Jason,Freddy and all the rest of the serial killers we have come to love over the years were real and now there's a new kid on the block,Leslie Vernon looking to take his spot as the newest king of mayhem. To give a lot away on the plot would surely ruin the enjoyable here but I can say this was the most entertaining film I have seen in some time. This is Scott Glosserman first time at directing and I have to say I look forward to his next project as this was about as well done as a film can be. The cast fantastic including Nathan Baesel as Leslie and Freddy himself Robert Englund, now how cool is that? This is a must own dvd for all fan's of the genre, it is an instant classic. Released by Anchor Bay Entertainment. ***** Out Of *****
