A genuine comedy-drama about a couple (Ray Brooks and Sharon Duce) who apply to become foster-parents, and the friction which develops with their own three children.  Growing Pains was written by, and based partly on the real-life experiences of, Steve Wetton.  It was swiftly adapted as a popular BBC1 series, again starring Brooks and Duce.
