Former Giants hooker Danny Russell has returned to the club as one of the coaching team for the newly formed Under 17s.

Danny will be working with Carl Atherton, who heads up the coaching team, and Mark Burgess one of the top junior coaches in the country.

The Giants will have a largely locally based side in the new competition, which begins in June. The nucleus of the team being the current Under 16 players on the Giants highly regarded Scholarship Scheme.

Giants Head Coach Tony Smith commenting on Danny Russell's appointment said "Danny is an ultimate professional and will be a real asset to the club. The vast experience he will be able to pass on to our young players is invaluable. I know he'll do a great job"
