The LEGENDS OF HOCKEY Over 40 Men's Hockey League is a recreational gentlemen's league formed several years ago in Gardner, MA. All regular players are 40 or over, and substitute players must be at least 38 to qualify to play in the league. There is no checking, and slapshots are not allowed. Currently, there are four teams in the league. Teams are set each season via a draft, conducted by the League President and the team Captains. Each team consists of 10 skaters and a goalie. The season runs approximately 30 weeks, from September to April, including a 3 week round robin playoff, and a championship game. All games are played at the Veteran's Arena in Gardner, MA on Friday nights.
